I've heard "rumors" that Moore and Humphrey have NIL offers.

I think that is fine. We are loaded at RB and OL.

The Cats have done a fantasic job in the portal. Davis, Hall, Jones, McCullouch, Rollins, Eckert, and that doesnt include guys who have already come and gone. The portal taketh and the portal giveth. There will be plenty of talent in the portal that would love to come to a place like MSU.

While I’m not naive enough to think we couldn’t lose both (I almost expect to lose at least one of those two), Moore could hurt a little more I think.

Yes, we have ridiculous depth on the OL and will be good again next year, but we’re also graduating our 1st and 2nd string center, 1 full time starting guard and 1 guard that splits time. So we’re already graduating 4 of our top 7 lineman. It’d be nice to not lose an All American underclassmen as well.

Are we for sure losing Perkins? He should have 1 more year since he redshirted his freshman year. Does he not want to be a graduate player? Idk what his degree is but there’s probably some program that’d be get use of

His only option (not sure if even an option) to play next year was a medical redshirt this year which he burned by playing the kneel down drive at the end of Cat-griz. He sure looked like this was his last season after the game.

I've been really curious about the decision not to pursue a medical. Regardless, what a great career at MSU!

Colter said on one of his shows that he doesn’t think Moore will leave. If I remember correctly, he said he had offers to leave after last season and turned them down because he realizes how good the offense line coaching is here. My memory is not what it used to be, but that’s how I remember it. Now that could certainly change if our offensive line coach takes a different job.

I really hope they can keep both, especially Moore. If he stays, he’s destined for a spot in MSU's Hall of Fame.

I would be shocked if Moore was still here for spring ball. Humphrey i don't know, but Moore is going to have his choice of places to both get a bag and play closer to home.

Moore received a large NIL offer this year but decided to stay and compete for the chipper. I think he leaves after this year.

The injury had to be season ending and it appears it wasn’t. Perkins was dressed out and on the sidelines at the Eastern game, so that right there indicates he was able to play and the injury not season ending. Perk graduated two years ago, he may just be ready to move on with his life.

Agreed, and I definitely understand many of the reasons why guys make these decisions. But at the same time, I don't like the timing of the announcement. Don't need that kind of chatter in the locker room heading into the playoffs. He could have waited...

Waiting would be detrimental to a kid transferring. Spots at other schools will fill up quickly, This isn’t a distraction. Guaranteed his teammates and friends probably knew before he announced on X. He hasn’t played all year so there is no disruption into normal routines.

Justus would've already been done after the 2023 season if not for the 2020 season being cancelled. I can certainly understand why a player might want to move on with his life instead of coming back for a seventh year of football. I assume Justus graduated a while ago.

One interesting side effect of the portal is that I think we're going to have a lot more players long-term who wind up on NFL rosters after playing at least some of their college careers with us. They will transfer to "big" schools and NFL teams will be more comfortable in drafting them as "proven" commodities.

Sebastian Valdez made honorable mention all-big 10 (out of 18 teams) this year, and probably would have done better if Washington hadn't struggled. I still think he's an NFL guy.

Kinda wonder if Seabass becomes a starter somewhere and plays on Sunday Night football, what he will say in his intro. Wouldn't be shocked if he said Montana State.
