Thanks lutecat, Geno did play that song all the time!lutecat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 5:53 amIf someone hooked them up with an invite to Yc then maybe there can be a donation for a better facility than what we have now. We went from VIG to whatever it is at the fairgrounds. Maybe there's plenty of seating for whe shows up but last time I was there it only looked like it would seat about 100 people?
For the history of the ice gardens: it was built by Martel Construction but the people they were building it for, couldn't pay to finish it so Martel eventually took over ownership. I used to love those games. Eventually the whole leage went to a lower level of play and the Dogs had to travel further away. It didn't make financial sense to have to travel so far for all away games so they too went to a lower level. At that point I don't think the bigger arena was needed so it sold to Cardianal, the local Bud and Miller distributor. Plus it's not like Martel was ever super interested in owning the Gardens.
Geno was the name of the announcer. I think he still does announcing for the current iteration of the Dogs. He was the long time overnight cashier at a local gas station. Not sure where he is now.
Here's your song he always used to play.

I worked with Geno at a skilled nursing facility when I was in undergrad in the early to mid- 00's. He was the recreational therapist, can't remember where he went from there.

The ultimate offseason thread.
A non-sanctioned club sport gets front page football exposure on BN, while now talking about a long-defunct hockey juniors team and their PA guy, while current basketball players are in the NCAA tournament this week, indoor track and field NCAA All-Americans are won over the weekend, and an LA marathon winner are all buried in the other sports@ forums.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Re: Bobcat Hockey & Cat griz
The Cats are advancing to the semi-final game for the first time in program history!
Yesterday, they fell behind to Wisconsin 2-0 in the first period, then battled back to win 4-2. Today against RPI they gave up a quick goal 12 second in but then completely controlled the rest of the game, winning 3-1. Their 2-1 record in pool play was enough finish first in the pool and advance to the semi-final game tomorrow against St. Thomas. This will be a bit of a "redemption game" for the Cats as the only two regulation losses they suffered during the regular season was against St. Thomas on road, losing 1-0 and 3-0 back in November.

Looks like flowhockey.tv. That website and the ACA website are extremely difficult to navigate. Very slow with their updates as well. Was wondering if there was something more direct?

Re: Bobcat Hockey & Cat griz
I was hoping for FGCU since that's been the common WBB team referenced up to the Sunday seeding show in whether they get seeded above the Cats. It would've been kind of....ironic.
