Heard a rumor we might be picking up a safety from Kansas, anyone hear anything about this?? Haven't heard a name yet, I'll let you know when I do. I know its a little early to start the recruiting talk but...Lets go after some Montana kids this year. I am a little partial towards Billings kids (particularly Skyview), but I think there a couple guys on that team we should go after. Shawn Lebsock is their FB at 5'10 roughly 215lbs. and is an amazing linebacker. Just a little something in case any coaches are reading this, should be a great game this weekend, need a huge turnout.

No way we get Lebsock - his dad played for the griz (and coaches Skyview) and his brother plays for the griz right now. I agree that he looks like a great prospect - word is that he may get a chance to go I-A.

I haven't covered the high school scene too much this year, but I know one guy from Billings I would love to get (next year) is Selle from West - although I have a feeling he will have the opportunity to go I-A also.

Shawn Lebsock's older brother, Matt who is playing for the griz right now is apparently not that pleased with the financial situation they are providing him right now. I know Shawn is a long shot just saying picking him up would be huge, if it was at all possible, Matt was considering MSU before UM but MSU gave him no offers at all, horrible mistake, similar to the mistake made with Dan McInerny, also a Skyview grad. From what I hear Shawn is pretty interested in Wyoming, but who knows. Another good RB from Skyview who might have a shot here is Derek Maciel, a little on the short side but a heck of a player either way. I apologize for my one sidedness with Skyview, its a feeling thats hard to kick.

Bozone- You tend to forget the last great Bobcat from Skyview, Scott Turnquist- his Dad played for the Jizz as well. Just a thought.

I don't think the Cats made a mistake on Matt Lebsock - he sucks! I do agree that Shawn presents a much more enticing prospect, and I would love it if the Cats could manage to steal him away.

Boy, wouldn't we love to have McInerny right about now...

That's how I felt when he left. He was impressive in the spring, but the coaches just didn't seem very high on him. I think he could have been just what we needed right about now from what he was showing in the spring.

I wouldn't mind having the Klaboe kid from West either...but he'll probably go friz or 1-A also. Maybe Selle will give us a look especially since his brother wasn't given a chance at UM and he could probably play sooner at MSU than at a 1-A unless he came in at exactly the right time.

Matt Lebsock sucks?!?!?!? Are you kidding me, did you see how much playing time he got as a true freshman last year, not to mention the time he is getting now. Ask Kane if he would like to have Matt right now and I can garuntee he would respond with a strong "absolutely!"

Sorry, I have little respect for a player that is frequently out of position on a secondary that is ranked 117 out of 117 in the nation in passing defense. I just have yet to be impressed by Lebsock - the fact that he is playing only goes to show how thin the UM secondary actually is. I have nothing personal against the kid, I just don't think he is a very good player yet (he may be down the road, who knows?). The only good player in the UM secondary right now is Kevin Edwards, but I think he tends to gamble a bit - that leads to interceptions (he has 5, pretty darn good for a safety), but it also leads to getting beat at times. Don't take that as a knock, I think he has shown pretty good ability this year, considering he is naturally a safety - that is just his personal style.

i would have to disagree with you and say that kane ioane had a little bit of a bigger impact than scotty t. he played at skyview also.

Matt Lebsock: 39 tackles as a true freshman, 3rd for the team, not too bad if you ask me.

i was not saying scott was better, equal maybe, but kane's dad did not play for the jizz- did i spell that out clearly enough for you?
