It was announced today on WDAY-TV that the NDSU Bison signed a contract with Montana State for a game in Bozeman next year! Great news for both schools. I for one hope this is the making of a long and lasting series between these two solid competitors.

Excellent....this is the type of opponent I like to see on the schedule...that's Oklahoma State, Cal Poly, and now NDSU in non-conference next year. Anyone know who the fourth team will be?

Great news getting NDSU, but that is a brutal non-conference schedule so far.

Cal Poly and OSU on the road, NDSU and I would guess a D-2 at home? That plus our 4 conference games would give us our six home games.

Didn't someone say something about Stephen F Austin coming to Bozeman? Maybe that was in two years????

WYCAT: I seem to remember that too now that you mention it...that would be one hell of a tough non-conference schedule!

WOW, that makes for a great and ambitious non-con schedule. I love it. Getting a win against a D-II team does nothing for us. If we want to be considered one of the best teams/programs in I-AA, we have to make playing schedules like this a habit.

I sure like the look of our home schedule next year - NDSU, SFA, Idaho State, PAM (Sac) State, NAU, and Montana. We will need the same crowds we had this year to make it a true home-field advantage. Holding serve at home would put us at 7-0, that would certainly help ensure a return to the playoffs after the miss this year.

With the team we have returning next year, there is no way that we should miss the playoffs. If we do, then something is seriously wrong.

Great to have NDSU on the schedule. No doubt it will be a tough game. Glad to have them in Bozeman. The only part of the schedule I don't like is playing Oklahoma State. I don't like body bag games. I understand MSU needs the money. I just hope we can come out of it healthy.

I agree with wbtfg! With the team returning next year there is no way we should miss the playoffs. If we do then something is wrong. Sullivan's energy will be tough to replace, but I think a combination of Alley, Roosevelt and Sherman will take care of his production. Wolf is going to be really hard to replace. I think Barnhardt and the other freshman TE's on the roster will be really good, but it might take a little time.

GO CATS!!

I talked with a few players last weekend after the game. They both told me that those games seemed less rough. Beau said that the CSU offensive line were wimps and didn't like the contact at all. I found this to be interesting at least. They said it was the same all four years for these "body bag games". I think that the chance is always ther to get hurt, it doesn't matter who you are playing. Both of these guys said they loved playing them it was kind of the measuring stick syndrome.

Just passing it along I have always had mixed emotions about these games and decided to get the players point of view.

I agree, I like the MID MAJOR games like CSU/WYOMING etc. OK STATE may be pushing it a little though :) I do like playing 1 game a year against top notch competition though as it helps you in the long run. It helps to play the best to help you get better and be the best in the long run. I can see why Beau said that against the CSU OL, as our DL totally outplayed them that game I though. Just goes to show you that the Big Sky definately has had a lot of talent lately and should only keep getting better.

Anybody have a Bobcat media guide - I'm trying to figure out what Montana State's all-time record against NDSU is and I think NDSU and Montana State disagree.

Looks like the Cats and Bison met up in the 76 Div II playoffs, so perhaps the discrepancy could be blamed on one side counting the postseason game and the other not. Another great site for I-AA historical data is http://www.michigan-football.com/ncaa/ncaa_1aa.htm

Yeah, UND owned NDSU before 1965 - but that was 8 national championships ago in NDSU time :)

Thanks though... I've got it at 12-20. I think Montana State gives NDSU credit for one more win then.

Hey! As a former UND student I must step in and defend them as primarilly a puck school! What the Sioux do on the ice is impressive no matter if your a Bison/ Cat/ or Griz...

Sorry, someone had to stick up for poor ol' UND... it is rivalry week afterall!

I interviewed and was accepted into UND for physical therapy. I thought it was a great campus, and I was really impressed with the entire school... it was just unfortunate that it had to be in North Dakota!

If griz fans think Washington-Bobcat Stadium is something, they should see the hockey arena! Some Las Vegas billionaire used to play hockey there and built what is probably the finest facility anywhere in the entire country at any level - and I am not kidding. This place was built with no expense spared, I think the total costs ended up running over $120 million. The entire arena is covered with marble flooring, every seat in the stadium is extra-wide and made of leather... the list goes on forever. It blew me away when I toured it.
