Another Gato poll

I'm curious about this, just as I was about Kramer vs Hauck. It is obvious from THAT Gato poll that there are a significant # of griz fans who prefer Kramer to Hauck. This time, I want a better breakdown of who's picking whom...
I will run this on egriz as well...

El,
You seem to be trying to hard to distinguish which qb wins the popularity contest in hopes that Lulay comes out miles ahead. There Cat fans that can't bring themselves to say Ochs is very good. On the other side, there are plenty of Griz fans that won't say how good Lulay really is. Whether or not these fans want to admit it, both qb's have all the skills and the leadership abilities that make them great. As far as your polls are concerned, I would be disappointed if either set of fans would take the opposing qb over their own. Why, because they are both great and nothing really sets them apart.

I agree with meaty. Cat fans give Ochs no credit, but he is a damn good QB whether we like to admit it or not. But speaking from a completely unbiased opinion (I can be an outsider looking in, I have enough common sense and restraint), I would still take Lulay based soley on his running and leadership abilities. To make that many comebacks as he has, to remain as cool as the otherside of the pillow when he is under pressure, the threat he brings both passing and running, and the fact I only remember him coming out once in the three years I've watched him, I would just have to take Lulay. Ochs throws a very good ball, an accurate ball, if it weren't for Lulay's other attributes, I would love to have Ochs on this team.
But then Lulay + Ochs = Meyer? Of course if either the Griz or the Cats had a guy like Kimble...
Here is a stat that is most appealing to me when looking at QBs (and this is a matter of opinion) - total yards.
Lulay - #2 in the nation with 346.9 YPG
Meyer - #9 in the nation with 293.3 YPG
Ochs - #19 in the nation with 250.1 YPG
So I simply would just have to take Lulay, he does more for his team than any single player in the conference IMO, and he should get the MVP.

My apologies to those of you who are offended by my polls. Seems to me that if you take the time to vote and/or respond, you must have SOME interest in the subject.
Meat, in particular, if you think this is/was a waste of time, why respond? You don't like it? Then ignore it.
Fact is Lulay is better at the position than is Ochs. I guess in your book that extra 100 yards/game Lulay gets makes them doesn't "set them apart"?
I found it interesting how the Kramer/Hauck voting turned out (especially since it took nearly 3 weeks for Hauck to overtake Kramer on egriz), and I was curious to see if there were a bunch of people in EITHER camp who thought the "other guys QB" was better than their own.

"EITHER camp who thought the "other guys QB" was better than their own."
Please, tell me you're joking. You do get what went on in the voting, don't you? You also get the Griz argument about QB rating, playing 3 quarters of the game & having talent to share the ball with.

hag,
First of all, it seems to me there are a roughly equal number of enemies on each board. Argue that with me if you like, but I was AMAZED at how long Kramer led Hauck on egriz. There HAD to be a # of griz picking Kramer for it to be that way for so long...
I was simply curious if that would hold in this case as well.
Ochs hasn't played the final quarter in 2 of your games. We're supposed to believe THAT is why he's #19 & TL is #2? Please. And this whole idea that he doesn't HAVE to throw as much because of the supposed talent & balance around him? I'm sorry, but you guys average 9 yards/game more than we do on the ground. And that's supposed to be why Ochs only throws for 250 a game vs Lulay's 346? Sorry, I don't get it.
Moderators, apparently I've done the internet equivalent of killing the Pope with this poll; please delete it before I do permanent harm to all the intellectuals here...

When you have a comfortable lead in a game, your game plan changes. No need to pound the ball through the air. No need for long down field passes. Whats needed is ball control to eat up the clock. We have had several games like this.
Had Oches needed to put up more passing yards (Like your qb), he would have.

Remember those stats I posted were total yards, running + passing.
Here is the pure passing stats.
Lulay - 309.9 YPG
Och - 245.8 YPG
Ochs has 19 passing TDs, 5 INTs, and 1 rushing TD, and 1 receiving TD
Lulay has 15 passing TDs, 9 INTs, and 8 rushing TDs
Proving that Ochs may be the better pure passer (may be), but Lulay is overall the better athelete and QB. My humble opinion.
