Well, that just ruined my friggin' day. I hope that this was at least statutory rape and not forcible rape, but it doesn't really matter dramatically either way -- it's not good.

I am planning to go to the game at SJSU tomorrow night, but the first two games' results and this little news nugget have really sapped my enthusiasm.

I have been out of the office most of the morning but got in a little after 11:00 and it looks like I hit the Gazette just right. They posted it at 11:34 and posted it here at 11:37.

Ditto. Un $^^@ing believable. Not to mention the personal aspects (which are huge) but this just about destroys what was already looking to be an ugly season. When is spring football?

Message to fellow Griz fans....Here's to hoping that certain Griz fans can take the high road on this and not get into a big "Your athletes are thugs" debate. I know there was a lot of remarks following the O'Brien and Hilliard debacles on both sides. Griz fans, lets all remember that the next "spoof" could easily come in Missoula and it's really not that hard to leave it alone.

The only people it hurts are the victims and hopefully their family members don't read the message boards when smack about these things get going.

Cat fans, it sucks when anyone, especially higher profile athletes, get into trouble like this. I hope the team can recover and move on. I'm sure you'll hear from some dipsh!ts about how the program breeds crap, blah, blah, blah. Just ignore it.

I was thinking the same things Meat. Glad you threw this out there. By the way I found this article that gives a lot more detail. Sounds like he admitted to knowing she was 15 and just didn't give a crap. What a loser.

If his prior knowledge of her age is true as well as the possibility that on at least one occasion she was passed out does not bode well and I find that to be pretty sad. You figure that as an athlete, he'd be doing fine with the ladies who are on campus and actually OF age.

I agree CTOWM. It is obvious that these things can bite any team in the a$$. And just about the time one team starts talking trash about the other team's thugs, that team finds they have problems of their own.

Slightly off topic, I thought Griz fans showed great restraint in talking smack after this years game too, considering the barrage they have had to deal with the last 2 years. The only bad smack I saw came from a poster who's ties to being a Griz fan is highly questionable.

What a shame!! I can't believe Frank!! First of all his actions are horrible, and the fact that he is a high-profile athlete brings shame to the basketball team, the university and Bozeman in general. This is unacceptable!

The basketball season is probably down the drain-but that's a minor thing. Two young lives possibly ruined-devastating.

Great point! I was trying to find a way to say that the hoops season my be well on its way to the basement of the BSC, but in the light of all this who cares? It is said to see young people make poor choices that have such a huge impact on the rest of their lives and the lives of so many other people. (ie the girls family, aspiring Bobcats, etc.)

One point on the limited smack between the Griz fans...ending the streak did wonders for the rivalry. The hatred was getting so intense that people were really losing focus of the fact that it is just a game(myself included) After getting those two wins I think the rivalry will be a more civil contest until another long streak happens. It was a great feeling to be upset that the Cats lost, but not hate the Griz for it. First time that has happened after a Cats loss to the Griz in my lifetime!

I didn't need the reminder but perhaps I was finding some consolation in the possibility that whether it was 14 or 16, I was starting to forget.

Damn you CTOWM!!

Edited by kmax...Steelheadbum, keep it civil and keep the personal insults and attacks against other members, even Griz fans off the boards.

Is the other basketball player in trouble for picking her up? I'm not sure if he would have some legal trouble of his own.

SteelheadBum, I didn't get a chance to read you insults and attacks towards one of us Griz fans but I can't imagine why you would have picked this thread to do it.

Booze, hormones and minor local fame are a dangerous combination. It always bothers me to see young ladies following athletes around. It might help if some more mature young ladies could let these girls know what a mistake they are making. Sounds like Frank is being totally honest, which is probably his best recourse. The rest of his life will be a real challenge. I hope other athletes and young ladies will benefit and learn from this mess.
