Kramer wacky quotes
This is from the Sunday Bozeman Chronicle, for those of you who missed it:
Quote:
"If we stay healthy, we're going to be a darn good football team next year," Kramer said. "The league is going to be extremely tough. There's a lot of top players coming back, but I consider us the best team in the Big Sky going into preseason camp."

If by wacky you really mean "spot on", then I'll agree.

No by wacky I meant:CelticCat wrote:If by wacky you really mean "spot on", then I'll agree.
1. Eccentric or irrational: a wacky person.
2. Crazy; silly: a wacky outfit.
Or one of these would do:
Barmy, batty, bonkers, buggy, cracked, crackers, fruity, haywire, kooky, loco, loony, loopy, nuts, nutty, round the bend.

Cuz we will have 4 RBs competing for the spot, and our passing game should be just as effective, assuming we can find a decent TE and replacement for Sullivan. Our offense should be even better next year, plus we get the guys back who were injured on D. Of course we lose some key players on D, but we get a lot of good players back.
Yes, I love our chances next year, atleast right now.

Well, I also think you should have a very good team next year. Just dont buy in to the the cats being the best.CelticCat wrote:Cuz we will have 4 RBs competing for the spot, and our passing game should be just as effective, assuming we can find a decent TE and replacement for Sullivan. I think MSU next year will be fairly similar to EWU was this year, with a bunch of returners coming back from an already very good offense. Kramer might be overstating things a little (or perhaps more than a little) but I'm glad he's that confident. MSU should be picked near the top of the league though, for whatever that's worth.

I certainly don't buy into the fact that he says we will be the best team going into preseason, but I know we have the potential to be the best next year, is why I am excited. Whether we are or not, only can be determined of the football field.

Wacky? No, I think Kramer is right on. However I had very high hopes for this years team and look what happened. Will next year be differant, I sure hope so. How can we go wrong with Lulay, Gatewood, Guinn, Dominick, an intact O line, a healthy secondary, Dorski, Bolton, Lulay, Lulay, Lulay and a new Lulay. WOW And the recruiting season has just begun. Maybe I my nose is getting close to the s**t and I should shut up.

No, you are right on Robcat. This team will be darn good next year. Remember, everyone was saying KRamer was wacko when he projected EW as the #1 team in the Big Sky this year ...... turns out he wasn't so wacko after all eh? RB's will be healthy, secondary healthy, offensive line all back. Just need to fill a few holes at DL and we will be ready to go. We have way less holes to fill this year than last year ..... thats for SURE.Robcat wrote:Wacky? No, I think Kramer is right on. Next year will be a two team race between EWU (who lose almost no-one off this years team) and the Cats. The griz will be lucky to finish third. The Griz lose there only QB's with experience, 3 0f top 4 recievers, all return guys, all of their experienced D-tackles, top tackler, best two O-lineman and one of their two starting RB's. With there crappy retruiting the last few years that program will fall hard. I used to go to Dornblaser back when 4000 drunk students went to the game and no one else. Washington Stadium will look pretty empty after the fair weather fans disapear.

Looking into the future with Bobcat Blue & Gold glasses must be fun. Losing our top two linemen huh? I disagree, we lose our best, yes. But Jay Green has been injured all year, in and out of games. Marshall and Frink have filled in, and when they're in Ochs has hardly never been sacked and Lex & JR have run wild on the field. Our O-Line is going to be solid next year.
The one RB we're losing has become a non-factor. Justin Green's off season "habits" slowed him down. Next year we'll have JR Waller & Lex...Hey! Both of those guys scored on you cats this year.
Our Defense will be better with experience and off season training. We're looking stronger already, and our 2nd stringers are stepping up with some of our injuries on D, I'm not worried about our strength at all on the D side.
Our crappy "retruiting" has landed some of Montana's best and we've seen some flashes of it already on the Defensive side of the ball and we'll see more next year. Our starting two WR's are both going to be over 6'3". We'll have Lex & JR, a solid line, a good TE (Ja'ton), and a rock solid D. The open seat is at QB. Last year we landed 3 top 1aa prospect QB's and now we've heard rumors of a backup from Oregon looking to transfer.
So thats the future with "Griz colored glasses" and I like our chances. Cat fans like next year b/c of Lulay. Hey Lulay's got 5 losses under his belt this year.
I'm thinking Cats finish 2nd or 3rd behind us and possibly EWU. (Of Course my opinion is biased

You're right, next year is sure to be a down year for us. I'm guessing 8-3 and our 13th consecutive year in the playoffs.gtapp wrote:Next year will be a two team race between EWU (who lose almost no-one off this years team) and the Cats. I think it will again be a 3-4 team race next year. EW/MSU/UM for sure will be reloaded and have good teams next year. Washington will be gone for EW but they have 1-2 other good RB's in their system I was impressed with. As long as UM has that good running game, they can beat anyone at any time. Even with a new QB next year. I think UM depends on how quickly their new QB comes in and does. Hopefully MSU will start out fast next year. Get that offense cranked up and out of the gates (no pun intended
) early!
NAU will be improved next year as well I think, but enough to compete for top 3 spots maybe.

Yeah, they will be tough no doubt. I just don't think they will end up at the top 3 next year. They are losing some horses on that defense for sure so it will remain to be seen if their defense is as good next year. I agree though, the CATS will need to go down and play an A game to come away with a win down there.Helcat72 wrote:Portland State will be heard from too. they have the running game and it really doesn't matter who the QB is, because he wasn't a factor this year. the defense and running game are paramount. We play them in
Portland too!
