Just noticed that this afternoon's MSU/UNC basketball game (that's Northern Colorado, mslacat) is being broadcast on Altitude. It's being shown twice, once live at 2 PM Mountain time and rebroadcast tonight at 11 PM.

The wins are stacking up!
For a team that was supposed to be road weary-Northern Colorado sure didn't look it. They had a guy go off for 5 three pointers and 19 points in the first half who was 1-10 for the season according to Durham. Then in the second half their guards got going for a while from three and they took a brief 4 or 5 point lead. I like how they just came out and played-maybe they have a coach who doesn't dwell on how tired they're supposed to be.
MSU had great balance with 5 guys in double figures. Marvin Moss looked real good offensively, and Casey Durham was the outside hero again today. JaRon Jefferson is just nice and steady. I still really like the difference Taylor Pratt makes inside and would like to see him paired with Moss more.
If this team can knock down jumpers they can be tough. San Jose State on Tuesday. We should get big Al Beye a few minutes in that game.

On another note: Is there enough money in the budget to buy our guys some uniforms with longer shirttails so they don't expend so much valuable energy and concentration constantly tucking in their shirts (which is a rule-silly as it may be).

Moss led the way with 18, including a dagger three late in the game.

I'm sure Durham is playing the small lineup due to the Big Guys being out, but this smaller lineup isn't going to get us very far in the Big Sky (another small team that will wear down again) again this year. Yeah, the 3's are fun to watch, but again this team is totally 1 dimensional again this year ..... 3,3,3,3,3,3. I just don't like the style as much as when the team misses, the its one shot and the other team going the other way on a break due to we have guys spread out all over the 3 point line all the way around. I remain optimistic, but I'm just not a big fan of this style. The guards don't even look for the Big Guys in there at all I think ... just pass it around on the perimeter and jack up the 3.
We'll see I guess ... I just think its going to be the same story again this year though. We'll have a 2-3 good nights shooting the ball from 3 land and win, but a lot more other nights where we don't shoot the ball from 3 very well.
I have a feeling looking at this MSU team so far that Portland State is just going to throttle us inside with their powerful team. We are VERY soft down low and when the big guy is open, the guards don't deliver him the rock ... opting to bang the 3 from outside.

Moss really looked good this weekend. This was a very good game, played well. Miller, Jefferson and Durham are giving people fits with the traps. I thought everybody played well, except maybe Durr.
I'm happy that we weren't the Bears first D-1 win. They're not a bad team at all, and obviously shoot well from outside. With the Big Sky down this year, this could be a Bobcat team with a decent seed in the tournament. They're fun to watch at any rate; the guards are the most talented group we've seen in a while. With Dissly the only real returning regular player, this is really a completely new team, but coming along.
