According to the ESPN article, he'll be competing with Butch Davis for all these DI programs.

That sucks he was fired as he definately didn't have much talent/$$$ to work with out there the past 2 years. I hope he gets a big program job again and can be a 'feeder' school for MSU again

Unfortunately Dennis has been as successfully in the Pro's as he has with the Div I football. He will find a good fit somewhere. His performance with collegiates is quite significant.

The small change bettors in Seattle are saying the job in San Francisco belongs to Mike Holmgem if he wants it.

Why would Holmgem go from Paul Allen (spends money like water on pro teams see TrailBlazers) to the SF owner? ( I hear this guy goes to the Opera on Sunday afternoon instead of watching his team play) BAC could give better details as what type of owner the 49ers have.

Because word is Terry Donohue is on his way out also. So Holmgren could end up as head coach and director of football operations for the 49ers, the place he started under Bill Walch. Paul Billions "convinced" him to give up the GM job in Seattle. Mike likes control. I'll tell you, making millions in the city by the bay with a glamour, high-profile franchise like the 49ers is hugely attractive to any football coach. Ask Dennis.

This article tends to reflect the mood of the press around here:

The poll is particularly telling.

Ya but Dennis still gets payed for the remaining 3 years on his contract. What I heard on ESPN this morning was that it was worth about 7mil!

If he gets another job by then, he should donate half that 7 million to the stadium debt!

That would be a very nice gesture .... hey, we can dream!

You might be partially right there! I see in yesterdays paper that they had to close hunting season for bobcats in and around south and west Montana. Funny, I didn't know any bobcats survived past November!
