Game Notes: NAU

Just a couple of interesting notes about two of NAU's better players who were almost Cats.
Kyle Landry, the 6-8 true freshman starting center for NAU. Last spring I have heard he committed to walk-on at MSU, after hearing pitches from MSU, NAU, to, walk-on. When the 5-8 rule was rescinded MSU moved to offer scholarships to he and Ted Morris (currently a red-shirt transfer @ MSU), as well Jefferson. Durham was a little slow NAU called offered a scholarship just before MSU and Landry took NAU's offer and ran. We signed Beye, and Pratt.
Steve Sir was 6-2 and playing basketball in Minnesota his senior season in High School, and he was a main target of MSU. The staff was really exited about have a real good chance to sign him. Then a University of Minnesota commitment, Luke Anderson, renege on a walk-on commitment to U of M and committed to sign with MSU. Anderson was a bigger, stronger, athletic and highly rated guard prospect than Sir. Durham jumped at the chance to sign Anderson, and stopped recruiting Sir. Rumor had it this ticked off Sir. Anderson never played in a game for MSU, Sir did not sign in the fall, but grew 4 inches, helped his team to a State championship. With his success of his senior year he turned down offer to NAU and the Griz an walked-on at San Diego State, than transfered to NAU last year.
