Lance Allred

  I have only seen Lance Allred once. He was second in the nation in rebounding and averages 17 points per game. He is pretty quiet but effective. He will not shock anybody but his stats tell the story. He gets pretty tired at the end and does not get a lot of help although cox hit 4 threes in a row about a third of the way in and Griggs hit 4 threes in a row at the end which allowed him to rest. Moss will go wild because Allred has to stay out of foul trouble and therefore you can go over and around.

Hopefully no relation to Gloria! Must not be if he's quiet. =D^

  He is not. Story is he was originally from Pinesdale MT therefore High School in Corvallis Montana. He is listed as being from Salt Lake City but one person said he went to school in Billings. I have no confirmation of Billings and we are almost sure he did not go to High School in Corvallis. I do not know Gloria but have heard the name and assume she did not go High school in MT.

The Allred matchup is scarey. Last time we had Towsley coming off the bench to give 10 or 15 minutes-this time we won't have Towsley's size and extra fouls to give. If Al Beye picks up a couple of cheap fouls early we could be in trouble.

I expect that he will be double teamed as soon as he catches the ball. In order to beat Weber, I think we have to keep the ball out of his hands.

  Good answer. Griz applied pressure and turned them over before the big guy could get down and back. Weber scored when they got down but Lance got discouraged because they were not able to get it there during some runs. Griz ran because Weber has bench of only four and those four got 18, 8, 6 and 2 minutes. Big guy got discouraged and then a little tired. Some called it a bad night only 14 points and 8 rebounds. He did not look scary but he must be. He got 25 rebounds one night.

Was this guy MIA the first time we played them, or what?

Allred had 17 points, 15 rebounds in the first meeting...seems like Weber really struggles if he doesn't have a huge game. Hopefully Al can stay out of early foul trouble.

Probably won't stop Allred. He's pretty much a double-double every night. Need to keep the others from going off.

Has Towsley been permanently put on the disabled list?

Yeah, but weren't like 8 or 9 of those points in the last couple minutes of garbage time? I thought we did a great job against him last time, need to keep it up tomorrow. I'm getting excited, I made some adjustments and will be in attendence at the game tomorrow night!!! Let's go, Cats!

hmmm can we afford to have a good game defending him of weber is shooting and making 3s all night long? personally if it were up to me id place casey durham, or a guard defending him and let big al deny to his hearts content whomever had the balls to drive the hoop - lance will get his lets not let the others get theirs - we win if he scores like 40 on us if weber scores like 50 to our 60.

besides to have sombody around 6 foot defending him will more then likley be an insult - therefore a quick 2 fouls on him and he is out of the ocntest for the greater part of the half if i read into his performances at all.

  He is not a fouler because he stands straight up with hands straight up but he is not a shot blocker either. He picked up 2 fouls early Thurs. but he played 34 minutes and ended up with 3 fouls. He sat at the end because he was discouraged and tired. He was 6-12 shooting but he had some tough breaks on the rim. Davis claims he is easy to shoot over because he just stands. Maybe it was because of the early fouls. Davis must know something he shot 13 times and made 10 of them but he was forced to shoot 2 threes which he made. Strait made 6-7 underneath. Lance will need plenty of support to keep it interesting but his stats indicate he scores and rebounds well.
