Crowd of 6521-pretty good, but not what it once was. Not sure what has changed there. I doubt the crowd would have been bigger for a Saturday night and it certainly could have been smaller with high school games going on as well.
I don't know if the atmosphere was as raucous as times gone by, but then again our memories may sometimes distort things. The crowd was loud and intense.
For those from out of town, how did the whole Sunday thing work out?
Anybody own a restaurant or bar? How did it work compared to Saturday night.
My only complaint-no Sunday nap yesterday, and I'm feeling it today-ugh.
Cat-griz on Sunday-yay or nay?

For an out of towner, I loved it - travel wise at least. I dont think Sunday afternoon put any kind of damper on the crowd. I would love to see more of these games in the future. Even some Saturday afternoon games.
As for the atmosphere, I dont think it is as good as it used to be. Its always easy to say, "when I was a student"....but I really think that is true. Back in the mid to late 90s we would net 6000+ for Weber and NAU, and sell out Cat-Griz. Not any more. And more than that, the atmosphere at the game was more exciting back when.
That means put some life in the crowd during timeouts, etc. How many free throw contests during timeouts can we have? BORING! lets have some up tempo music, lets have the dance squad actually do something, Champ, please do something more than point at the crowd and clap from the top row of the endzone seats - what was with the orange vest? Mr. Fields....get that mascot a new "kid friendly" costume and bring back the damn cheerleaders! Use that big screen, lets have some instant replays, or highlights of the season or seasons past. I cant believe the marketing department is lacking this much imagination.

My wife suggested hiring Eddie Sullivan to be Champ! He was up leading cheers in front of the student section! I agree with a kid freindly costume. I heard Fields may have asked that Monty not be allowed to work the floor. He was there Saturday...but not Sunday. I can't say I blame him....If Monty stays away from Bozeman...We promise to keep Champ away from MIssoula!

This weekend worked out perfectly for my family. The wife took half a day and got to the Super 8 in Belgrade around 5:00 so the kids had a couple of hours of pool time before I got there, we drove around Belgrade, Bozo and Manhattan as I tried to see where all the growth my relatives are complaining about is located and got to bed fairly early; then on Saturday did the usual tour up to Mammoth hoping to see the big bulls (don't see as many elk as we saw bulls ten years ago) and went to some old holes to let the young ones catch some nonnative fish, got to the game and felt kind of sorry for our ladies at times, went to bed, got up and caught a few browns and rainbows, went to the fieldhouse early hoping the kids would be able to bounce around again and got to see a pretty good game. As we aren't working in the same area this year, we went our separate ways after having a decent meal as a family; she got home around eleven and I made it back a little after one, which is starting to be quite late for me. It would have been a little better had the game started at noon. I suppose my only complaint about going to any game in Bozo would be the traffic but I went east and was on the interstate about 20 minutes after leaving. I loved it and I suppose we'd see many more folks come from out of town if we had more afternoon games. Don't even consider trying to make it over for a Thursday game, as a comparison. We really had a lot of fun. Hows this for another suggestion: get the Museum of the Rockies to open earlier on game day.
