  If you are down after PSU you may not want to watch Saturdays game even if the Bobcats win. Eastern Washington wants to get a win and get into the tournament. Their basketball defense has been known to give up less points in a half then their football team does in the 4th quarter. The last 4 halfs they have given up 19 points, 16 points, 19 points and 34 points. They gave up the 34 because they hit 5 three pointers in a row. Their strategy will be to deny Moss and foul Beye and hope he does not make free shots. They will foul anything inside and flop, flop, flop, flop all over the floor to draw the charge. If you are not hitting your free throws it limits your possessions and they use all of the shot clock. Axton is allowed to shoot from anywhere. He shoots a nice three and looks like a skinny guard. Smith had it going Thursday making 8-11. Pariseau did not have any luck Thursday. Bobcats will be shooting a lot of freethrows and Eagles do not shoot many. Defense and every possesion become very big. Not a lot of fun to watch if you get behind. Or even if you get a lead. Eastern won 64-50 at Cheney last month.

Every team except PSU that beat us on the road lost to us at home. We are a different team at home. Considering how bad we shot our 3's vs PSU, we still sent it into overtime. All we have to do is shoot better 3's AND have a good game from Moss or Beye, and we can win this. FOULS WILL DECIDE THIS GAME.

Everyone needs to get to the game early to see Henry Bickering from Eastern Washington. I saw a dunk competition of this guy on the internet, he did a windmill over a guy, jumped from the free throw line off of 2 feet, and did the Vince Carter arm in the rim. I will look for the link to the video, its honestly amazing. He was also on the best damn sports show after the dunk competition.

The 'Cats have far more riding on this game than Eastern does. Not only is revenge from the previous loss needed, but also playing for 2nd place at home is easier for a team to get up for, versus Eastern scenario of winning and you might get in.

Good luck Coach D and the boys!

-The 'griz seem to think they want to meet back up with the Cats in the tourney . . . haven't they learned yet?

How about the previous 6 losses, which is the number of consecutive times we have lost to Eastern. We got some payin' back of our own to do, and it would be extra sweet to keep them out of the tournament in doing so. Not to mention giving their school a little payback for that gift we gave them during football season... :x :x :x
