Saturday's First Round Projections

Post by ZifCat52 » Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:59 pm

It should come as no suprise to anyone that both home teams, Montana and Sac State are projected by the Sagarin numbers to win Saturday.

Montana has the second highest Sagarin rating in the conference at 71.05, Eastern is second lowest at 65.33, with the home court advantage at 4.05, this gives Montana a decided edge by the numbers.

The other game has Weber with a higher Sagarin rating at 67.02, Sac State is at 66.31, but with the home court advantage, Sac State is the favorite by only a difference of 3.34. This could be another barnburner in Sac's tiny gym. How mnay points are the Big Sky refs worth in this one?

For the games in Portland, I will not use the home court advantage for the MSU game, but will include it for the PSU game as they are "at home". Projections on the semifinals next Tuesday.
