The JC wing, that we are recruiting

Well it has been rumored (by myself) that one of our recruiting goals is the signing af a
JC wing. Many people have question why we would be after a JC wing ( including
myself ). I have no answer to that but I can who has emerged as a big time possibility.

6-4 Chaz Dykes of Navarro JC , a New Orleans native, averaged 15.0 points per game
this season, a total that was 10th-best in conference. Dykes also hit 51.5 percent of his
field goals -- including 45.1 percent from 3 point land -- and knocked down 62.6 percent
of his free throws. He even collected 2.4 steals, 3.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds to boot.

Most of the Southland Conference schools are recruiting him, yet I understand that he
may want to get "away from home". Montana State may be the leader.

This would be a big time signie if we can land him!

How tall is Dissley? 6-4 ! How tall is our shooting guards 6-0, 6-1 , 6-2! How tall is our Power forward? 6-6 MAYBE! In Durhams offence there is very little difference between a small forward and the off guard. The basic difference is that the off guard will help bring the ball up. There are times when our offence resembles a 3 guard offence.

If he's 6'4" now he'll be listed as 6'6" in MSU's program and be a power forward

and yet we wonder why we fade down the streach? how tall is the griz swing forward....6'6"!?!?! me thinks that if durham is serious about winning the big sky he needs height. take a look at the conference finals, two of the most physical teams in the big sky

Doulhy is 6-6, but Farr is 6-4 and Mathews is 6-3.

You know the friz better than me, but didn't Mathews play some point guard toward the end of the seaon after Lynch got hurt? I don't remember Farr playing that much except for a few games where he got some minutes got few points. Isn't Easley also a 3? or is he a 4?

Easley is strickly a 4-5
Mathews is very flexable in that he can play 3 possitions. Before Lynch was injured Mathews played mostly the 3 position and some to back up Crizwell.
Farr started some at the wing posstion. Krysco figured that Farr was more of a defencive force and Douhly more of an offencive force.

At time Farr and/or Mathews would fall into Krysco's dog house and he would play the other one.

Hells Bells - Marvin is 6'5" on a good day. Yet he plays much bigger than he is. Just remember, It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog. It may sound trite, but it's true. That, and hes got good mechanics/moves, and soft hands.

However, I would still like to see a 6'7-9" PF recruited though. Mebby a Cal Ento type to spot Moss and provide some much needed size at that postion.

yeah me to - i am not concerned about center - id love to see a 6'10" to 7' freshmen recrutied for center and a lot more size for our 2,3,and 4 spots. Id also love to see a bit more attitude from our team as well, we cant win the big sky if we are consistantly allowing layups. if our big men allow it then we will never win

Height is overrated. Kamar Davis was the best center in our league, and is only 6'7''. I think if you have muscle and touch you have more of an advantage than being 6'10". Strength and quickness are just as important attributes to a basketball athlete than height.

I have stood next to Kamar Davis. He is the shortest 6-7 I have ever seen. My doctor Just measured me a few weeks back. He came up with 5-10 3/4", if he was to use the same measuring stick Kamar uses I would be 6-3!!

I dispute that. What about Weber's Lance Allred? He averaged a double-double (17 pts, 12 rips a game). Davis averaged only 15 pts, 6 rips a game.
