I think they've only had 2 or 3 practices. I'm not even sure if they've put on the pads yet. Might try to stop by for a minute or two this afternoon....If they have practice.

Is Saturday's scrimmage going to be their first meaningful practice. That is going to be one rusty scrimmage!

I just checked the webcam, and it looks like there is some activity going on over at the practice fields. It looks like they may get a practice in....I believe that they will be in pads today!

Just drove by...they're practicing today. Can't give any more news as I find practices very boring to watch and therefore don't watch them. :D

How do you check the web cam? I hear you guys mentioning it but have never seen a link or anything of the sort. If need be, send it to me privately.

The only one I know about is http://cateye.msu.montana.edu/ but you can't see much of the practice fields from it.

I believe NCAA rules are for spring that you must have two practices of non-pads before they can put the pads on. So they didn't have a choice.

Did anybody get a chance to go to practice today and if so how was it?

Tonight's news did a feature on the O-Line. McEndoo was praising a few guys, and it sounded like Saucedo has been moved to defensive tackle. I'm not sure if this is a permanent move or if is because of injuries. Anyway, I found it interesting that we may have 6-6 320lb DT now.

Thanks a lot do you think that move to d-line will actually help the team though? Does anyone know how the secondary is doing?

You have to think think that Saucedo wasn't going to get a lot of PT at OL this year. There are the big 6 (Bolton, Fig, Jensen, Hirst, Wolf, and Berkland) that will get most of the PT. Five will start and the other will be the first one in with a shift of other players. Then seeing that only three of the six are seniors, 3 (or 4 if Wolf gets his red shirt year back) will be back the following year (or two in the case of Jensen) Then there is DeCock, Beninger, Smith and others that are young turks ready for playing time that are competing for only a couple of spots.

If they are going 3-4, the Nose Tackle has to gather a lot of attention for it to be effective and not be shoved around. If Saucedo is mobil and strong, he could be very good.

By the sounds of things with Saucedo, he is going to be a stud no matter where they put him. I have a feeling he is too good NOT to be on the field, so the coaches are finding a place for him to play right now! :D

Exactly, with this guy's size and atheticism (from what I have heard) he has to see the field or we are wasting him in my opinion. 6'6 320 pounds sounds like a darn good start for the nose tackle position to me. He just needs to be able to engage/hold 2 gaps/demand double team and then let our fast LB's pour in. I really like this move if this is true. It gives us some more size/depth on the DL. It will also help the substition patterns in and out as well. That is also good news on Papich. I saw him last spring and he was really popping people (had gotten bigger). I'm glad to hear he is still growing! :) He could be a surprise for us this year.

I think he will be able to handle this duty without doubt. In fact, I'm thinking there will be times when he commands the centers attention as well as both guards.

Mac Mollohan and Epi King should be best friends with Mr. Saucedo b/c he is going to make those two look real good :!: :!: :!: :!:

I hope he can perform on the DL. I know it's easy to get excited about a 6'6 330LB DLman, but we have to see how he plays the position first. I agree though, if he has any athletic ability at all, he can easily keep 2 OLmen occupied, allowing us to be a sucessful 3-4 defense. God I hope the kid can play!

I remember watching Saucedo's recruiting hilites... He played nose in HS and he was double and triple teamed all season long. In one play that I remember he grabbed the center with one had and one of the guards with his other hand, then proceeded to toss them both out of the way at the same time.

I was disappointed when he was moved to OL last fall because he looks like one bad dude who loves to punish not only ballcarriers, but the poor OLinemen who have to block for the ballcarrriers.

I'm glad he's back on the D.

I remember seeing the same thing Gavin. This kid is going to be special regardless of whether he's on the OL or DL....but I like him on the DL!

...and with all those baby buffalo, we could use Bolton in a two back set a lot more...
