MSU vs UM in the Draft
The last couple of years the Cats have had some higher draft picks: Joey Thomas in the third round last year and John Taylor in the Fourth a few years ago. Over the last twenty years it seems like the Cats have consistantly had more players drafted and players drafted higher than the griz. How is it that the Cats with their less than 500 record over that time frame produces more NFL caliber players?
Other high picks include:
Borchardt 3rd round
Bill Kollar 1st
Jan Stenerud 3rd

That would explain getting drafted but not making the team or having a carreer. Players with some staying power:jagur1 wrote:GT they spend more time on individual play.
Borchardt
Ron East
Sean Hill
Kollar
McCullum
McGrath
Larry Rubens
Stenerud
Widmer
And hopefully Thomas

Bronco, I have never agreed with you on anythingbronco wrote:Be nice...ok to dislike a player who helps beat your home team while they still have some eligibility but lets be happy when a 1 AA player does well in the NFL.
I would be very happy to hear Joey introduced on a Monday night football game starting for Green Bay.

There are plenty of players I've wished well over the years who happen to be Griz. Dylan McFarland comes to mind and having a guy like Tim Hauck have the NFL career he had is GREAT for the Griz & for the Big Sky.
But I find it very difficult to be supportive of a mercenary player like Green, especially one who CLEARLY lacked much of a work ethic his final season. No griz fans could have missed his gut and his overall decline in production from his Junior to his Senior season...
I'm sorry, but this whole "feel-good" mentality of pulling for a guy just because he played in our conference? Sorry, I'm not capable of going there. I'd much rather see Craig Ochs get a shot & succeed...

Grizzlies: 2-5 when it matters most
