What school would make a good rivalry for the Cats that we all could enjoy every year that doesn't already exist?

UC Davis got a vote...must be a parent living down there that wants to see their kid play at least once a year. Cant blame them for that.
Otherwise, why would anyone vote for that game? Have the Cats ever played UC Davis?

I threw them on the poll because they are a 1-AA that always plays a Big Sky School. I thought most people would like to see the Cats play NDSU or SDSU. I thought that there would be a couple of votes for Cal Poly because we already play them quite a bit.

I just couldn't vote for a Jackrabbit, even though I'd like to see us play them every year

Besides, that's Joe Glenn's school.

Lets beat Cal Poly, then kick them off our schedule for ever. I hate that program. they have had our number.

We can always play Fort Collins College like UM if all we want is a win and don't want to recruit California

Keep Cal-Poly on, starting to be a good rivalry. It looks like the players on both sides get real physical and frustrated when we play each other.

I agree more with BleedsBlue&Gold. It really isn't as good of a rivalry when one sides loses every year.

But they are close games.
Besides, what kind of message would that send if we cancelled a game we had played several times in the past decade, simply because we lost?
They are usually close, tough, physical games.
I'd rather play a team that consistently beats us than play Ft Lewis College.
You guys telling me you want to stop playing them without having beat them? I'm the kind of guy who would rather lose 10 times in a row then finally win than just give up at 5 losses.

How differently would our 2 trips to the playoffs been if we had been 8-3 instead of 7-4? Besides, the only good reason people have given to play CP is for recruiting in CA which is valid. There are plenty of other schools, Div. 1-A and -AA, that we could play and serve the same purpose. I think the option attack is hard to prepare for, especially with the defense we typically employ, and that has been a large part of our problem.

If you want to recruit California there are only 2 1-AA teams in Southern Cal (Cal Poly and University of San Diego which can't even beat an Ivy league school, no way they would play MSU) and 2 in Northern California (Sac State and UC Davis). Cal Poly is an important game if you want to recruit SoCal.
It might be interesting to go through the SoCal players on the roster
New Players:
Chris Kolone (Arizona transfer from San Diego),
Murray (WSU transfer from Ventura),
Jason Macciola,
Chris Davis (transfer from New Mexico- Long Beach Poly in LA),
Wright (San Diego),
Arnold Briggs,
Brian Walden,
Denis Speights (LA),
Kevin Retoriano, and
Dominic Sonsini (LA).
(and we will not count Teisher from San Diego).
If you look at the current roster (all the RBs, 2 of the OL, QB, DBs) - Fair to say a good amount of the speed.
Groves - San Diego
Jensen - San Diego
Coppack - San Diego
Domineck - LA
Figueroa - Bakersfield
Gathing - Oak Grove
Kahiam Hunter - LA
Molock - LA area
Grenfell - LA
Henderson - LA
Goins - LA
Chaz - LA
Last year's Seniors
Sebestyen - San Diego
Eddie - San Diego
Not a bad list of players that contribute to the team. Recruiting is important and there is no other team to substitue for in SoCal.

I hope that the NDSU/MSU game is an annual event too. There is no reason why that game should not be on TV in both Montana and North Dakota.....Let the rivalry begin again!

We don't have that luxury, we can't find any schools that consistently beat us.

You'll never know until you play some 1AA teams.
