I hear Kwitkowsky, Johnny Brown, Bader, Dumas, Fields are all going to be in Helena for this on Thursday. I'd think all the asst. coaches would be interesting to hear speak and may have some insights that Kramer and Durham don't go into. The new ladies coach should have a lot to say. I hear she's doing pretty well with her recruiting and is well liked.

Isnt Kramer in Europe?
As for Durham, I dont know why he isnt in Helena, but this is why his public perception as a dud is so wide spread. Mick needs to go to more events like this and shake hands, smile, SPEAK, and lift up his program. Be a little more outgoing.

You have to give credit to Kramer for doing a hell of a job at going out and getting the people in Montana excited about Bobcat Football. I don’t really understand why Durham doesn’t do the same and why boosters and the AD aren’t on his ass to do more. He sure would get more booster money if he were out in the public.

Couldnt agree with you more. What shows you the amazing job Kramer is doing is the fact that excitement/fan base/money keep pouring in and coach hasnt had a season better than 7-6 in his tenure. Imagine what would happen if the Cats went 8-3 this season and won a home playoff game.
Mick needs to take a page or two from Kramer in the personality and marketing department. Then again, maybe Mick is happy with 3500 people sitting on their hands at BB games while his teams wallow in mediocrity because of February swoons.

That won't happen...not Mick's style...It is Coach Brown's style, however, and he has become the ambassador for men's hoops. Which is great for us.

I met Johnny at one of his pregame talks during the hoops season. Really like the guy! He is exactly what that program needed.

Johnny is a good face for the mens program, lots of energy, personable very good talker, very in tune with the complaints of the boosters.. Like I said before, when he was in Missoula I felt like he was reading from a script that was entitled all the correct things to say to make the boosters happy.

******** Rumor / Opinion Alert *********
I really don't think anybody from the Athletic Department grooming anybody at this point, but I also have the strong feeling that Brown is very aggressively promoting the program and himself as a future head coach somewhere, with his energy and style. If he has the skills (which is hard for me to judge at this point) he definitely has the personality to be a head coach down the line. That said though, if Durham was to resign, today I really think Carson would have more supporters / history. Give Brown another year or two and I think he would apply for the job and be serious contender for the job. Carson is so Durham’ish with his laid back style that I could see that hurting him if he was to apply. I could, though, see boosters going for Brown charisma much more. The other name I keep hearing about is an assistant with U of Washington who was an assistant with the Cats about 10 years back (can not remember his name right now). I have heard his named mentioned often from people in the athletic department and boosters as someone who would be a welcome replacement when Durham retired. There are people keeping their eye on him.

It didn't happen. Too much rain, so it's re-scheduled for later this month. Football practice got snowed out, injuries are running rampant and now the booster meetings are being rained out. MSU better get rid of its bad luck over the summer or it's going to be a long season.
