Montana sure gets more respect then they deserve. I know the cats are better then 25. Tough schedule for the Cats, we have to play 2 top 3 teams and 4 top 20 teams. I guess the kids will have to go out and "Show them the Money". This season is going to be a battle all year long.

Yep- but we'll prove them wrong I think. Griz probably deserve the recognition based on past performance, but I think they're overrated this year. Think it's going to be a fun year.

Refresh my memory, who played for the championship game last year?

cats better hope they win the BSC, I could see them being 1-3 going into conference play. Without the BSC championship, one conference lose will have the cats sitting at home once again for Thanksgiving Day.

The Griz will loss 3 conference games this year. No way to make the playoffs. Baby H will be hung by the mob from the nearest tree. That will be a shame since he is driving the great program into the ground. I would like to see him stay a few more years to finish the job.

You should be a little more concerned about the 5 or 6 games the cats will lose this year.

I'm glad the griz are able to play Fort Lewis. That might ensure them a win to gain them some confidence. That makes sure they will have at least one win going into BSC play.

Our non conference schedules aren't that different in quality of opponent.

GRIZ/ msu/ Advantage
Cal Poly - Cal Poly - Push
Oregon - OK State - Push
SD State - ND State – Push (SDS beat NDS last year)
Fort Lewis - Stephen F Autin - cats

I think OK State is the better team vs Oregon and come on ND State is a power house in the making. They are ranked in the preseason and did they not crush the little frizzles last year.

I see like this

Cats Griz Advantage
Cal P Cal P push
OSU O Cats
NDSU SDSU Cats
SFA FLU Cats
If the Cats can win 3/4 preseason, I think we are talking National Champions.

Let me get you up to speed. 1st, We didn't lose to NDS last year, it was in 2003. 2nd, They didn’t "crush us", they won by one point on a game we mailed in at half time. 3rd, Using your logic SDSU has to be the better team because they beat NDSU last year. And come on, National Champions, get real.

Point 1 You'll be lucky to win 2 of your preseason games.

Point 2 Didn’t msu start the season by losing 4 or their first 5 games and end the season losing 3 in a row??

Point 3 Wasn't 1984 the last time you one a playoff game??

Conclussion - Cats are again home on Turkey Day!!

To your point 2 - MSU started the season by WINNING 4 of 5. And to take a page from your book, we lost to Eastern Washington in overtime. And neither Cal Poly or SFA are as good as last year. Cal Poly is no higher then 17 in these polls and SFA isn't even ranked. Kepp talking, and good luck against Fort Lewis.

SDSU won't be as good as they were last year. Griz will beat them by 20-30 points in Washington Griz Stadium. SDSU lost some of their studs on offense and their defense was average at best last year. MSU was taking their tape off thinking they had the game won when they made their comeback last year. We should have beaten them by 20 or so and that was with their good skill players.

That's funny and a good point. You can look at that either way. Is that smart scheduling or dumb sheduling? The Griz have proven in the last decade or so that their scheduling has been successful. The Cats haven't. So the Griz schedule lowly Ft. Lewis and get the win and Cats can brag about their tough schedule and loss to OSU. "IF" history repeats itself, Cats will be sitting home for the playoffs and Griz will be in the post season. Griz have a new QB and young team and Cats have an experienced team with an experienced QB. Which team is smarter? Personally, I don't care who we schedule as long as we make the playoffs. Would Cat fans prefer to have a weaker schedule and make the playoffs or brag about a tough schedule and sit at home in Dec?

All I say is show me something and play someone tougher like a decent I-AA opponent. You cannot bring OSU into this arguement because the griz play Oregon. Both I-A teams. MSU plays SFA and Cal Poly along with OSU. The griz play Fort Lewis and Cal Poly with Oregon.

We play two decent 1AA teams in Cal Poly and SDSU, and a 1A. How can you know what quality the team will be when we are sometimes scheduling two or three years out.

We have a very aggressive plan to eliminate our deficient, and as part of that plan, we have reduced travel cost to maximize income. Seems pretty smart to me! Any one of you cats want to make a little wager on which schools deficit is retired first?

Back in the mid 90's we almost always had a team like Fort Lewis on our schedule. That worked out pretty well.

We want and expect 1A teams to play us, what’s wrong with reciprocating with a team one level down.
