Kicking Game - Will we have a decent one this year?

I know it's very difficult to kick consistently in Bobcat stadium, but for those of you that have seen the kickers in the scrimmages. Do you think we will be better than last year in that area? If so, what is our maximum FG range you think this year at home?

Being a Bobcat fan I think one always heads into the season with this question on their mind. This year it is even worse for me because not only are we looking for a kicker but also a holder and snapper. Who will fill these roles as well?

Snapper/holder are legit questions, but I think we will be fine in the kicking department.

Bolton is reliable, but FG outside the 30 yard line are a question unless he gets stronger over the summer. Fisher kid will be a frosh and is more than capable of handling kickoff duties at least, and will probably challenge Bolton if he adjusts to kicking in college.

We are in more capable hands with those 2 than we have been in many many years. These two are also the best athletes we've had at this position, maybe ever.

Good deal, I will be more than satisfied if we can get a kicker that can consistently kick from the 30 yard line in. 47 yard field goal is a pretty long field goal in that stadium with all the swirling wind. I think if you kick much farther out than that it will be coin toss if it goes in or not anyway (on most fall days in Bozeman with how the wind swirls in around the stadium etc). But hey, with our new power running game? Who is going to be scoring field goals eh? :)

We should be in good shape. Liked what I saw in Great Falls and you can't get over the kids we're sending to the Sunday games--staff is doing a lot right. I went into spring a little concerned but know the father-son thing will help here again this year.

I think Kramer needs to pick a kicker and stick with him. He switches to much and that isn't a good thing.

I agree that you need to pick a guy and stay with him, but Kramer hasnt had that luxury in the last couple years due to injury. Cats seriously went through 3 kickers last year, and 2 the year before that.

Assuming Bolton got his medical redshirt last year, that means we will have a RS-FR and a true FR going at it this fall. I see Kramer letting Bolton handle FG duties and Fisher doing kickoffs.

Didn't we also pick up a JC kicker this spring?

Yes we did and he's suppose to be pretty good. He'll be a junior.
