So I'm bored today, my day off and everyone else at work, so I decided to crunch some numbers of Gatewoods last year.

IF (big IF) he would have had the sucess he had the last 6 games for the entire season, his stats would have been roughly this:

Totals = 102 Receptions 1558 YDS 14 TD

Data:

First 5 games of the season (only played in 4)
8 receptions 145 yards 0 TD (1 rushing TD)
.625 Rec/game 29 YPG

Last 6 games of the season
56 receptions 850 yards 8 TD (1 rushing TD)
9.34 Rec/game 141.67 YPG

Totals = 64 Receptions 995 YDS AVG 15.5 8 TD (2 Rushing)

Discuss.

I think he'll actually end up putting up simliar number to last year in my opinion. Especially with the new WSU transfer etc. I think he will be about the same because I am hoping we can flat out run the ball more this year. I like offenses that are more balanced as I think they are a lot harder to stop/gameplan for. At least we know if we struggle running the ball this year we can go to the spread offense once again and hopefully leave off where did last year. The running game eats clock and rests the defense ... 2 things that if we had last year we would not have lost to EWU in the 2nd half like that. They would have run out of time for the comeback.
