If anyone missed it, here is a link to Scott Mansch's article today in the Tribune on Pat Kennedy. Seems our buddy isn't too fond of old Pat... and even managed to get a dig in on Baby Hack. I can't imagine being to thrilled with this article if I was a friz fan, but I laughed my butt off!

How about 2 losing seasons

It actually seems like Mansch wrote the article quite even-handedly -- he could just as easily be the biggest UM fan on earth and written the same article. I'm sure most Griz fans would agree with his take on the situation.

I just went to lunch and picked up a copy of the Trib to read. You know it is an even better read in print! BTW do you get the opinion Manch is a little ticked off about the " I am not interviewing" comment.

You could tell Mansch realizes Kennedy is a player....and he was "played" by him and his "big time" personna. Yea ..it's too bad...Towson's gain is our loss!

I just wish Kennedy would have stuck around one more year! With the talent the Griz have coming back and if they actually hire a "coach" they could be trouble next year.

Hate to take the typical cat/Griz posture here but what are you guys all excited about? Last time I checked, we beat you and went to the Big Sky Tourney. How did you do???

Durham and the gang have their own issues and who coaches the Griz is at the bottom of that list!

Umm... we beat you too, finished with the same conference record, and missed the Tourney on a tiebreaker with you. WOW, you guys sure kicked our ass last year. You seem to be putting a lot of importance on tiebreakers as long as they benefit the Griz

Actually I thought we were doing quite well in basketball. We have a coach period, so we do not have to worry about picking between an ex-NBA player would be NBA coach, who has never stayed at a job for more than two years before getting restless and moving on, or guy who has not even bothered to finish up his own college degree and yet want to put the university in a possition of saying " yea your son will get a good education here , but never mind that I never bothered to finish my degree here". AND a Interm athletic director who insists tha she picks a new coach in FIVE days.

Additionally we have an honest coach.

For the last 4 years we have been over performing with low level talent, as opposed to the Griz who have been underperforming superior talent.

I am exited about Montana State prospects we out performed the Griz with 9 scholarships and we will do the same now that we all 13 of our scholarships back.

Yep pretty exited.

No argument that Kennedy's departure is good for UM. However, I fail to see why cat fans seem so excited. Yes, we split last year. Yes, you lost the tiebreaker to visit the tourney and we barely made it. All true. Now, if you had been crushing the Griz and winning the conference because of it, thats another argument all together.

Talent level??? Man, you guys had the reigning MVP. Doesn't that mean advantage cats? The Griz teams I saw over the past 2 years really weren't that good. If their was talent wasted it was in Bozeman...

As for bashing Krysko and Tinkle, well, they both did pretty well against the cats. You guys would be pissing all over yourselves to brag up an NBA veteran from your program! And lets not even get into what to tell parents regarding the "integrity" of coaches...Better to have a chemistry lab to visit than a meth lab!!!

Wow MSU I just laughed water out my nose when I read that. That is hilarious. I never thought of it in those terms - how sick are we of hearing about the co-championship thing and then he throws that out there...SWEET

Oh by the way, my posts NEVER bashed the cats for their co-championship. Personally, when we lost, we lost and have no need to claim any of the title...

And I'd much rather have the tiebreaker to the championship than to a 6th place tourney bid...

Well then, congrats. You're the ofirst Griz fan I've bumped into that didn't whine about us not calling ourselves "co-champions" the past 2 years...

Oh and check what happened when Krystkowiak was a senior...I belive that was the year we went to the big dance...beating the friz and Nevada at home to get there!
