MSU women's basketball: Former MSU women's coach moves on

ROCK HILL, SC - Winthrop University head women's basketball coach Bud Childers announced the hiring of Robin Potera-Haskins as an assistant coach.
Potera-Haskins has 19 years of coaching experience with a career winning percentage of .675. She spent three seasons as head coach for Montana State, where she became the first coach to win back-to-back Big Sky Conference regular season titles and tournament championship games in 2002 and 2003.
Before MSU she was the head coach at Texas Wesleyan University from 1999-2001, where she was 39-15 overall in the programs first two seasons at the NCAA Division I level. At Texas Wesleyan she was also the Senior Women's Administrator. Potera-Haskins started her collegiate coaching as a graduate assistant at Stephen F. Austin in 1985 and her collegiate head coaching career began at Austin College. During her five seasons at Austin College she won 85 games and became the school's winningest coach ever.
"I'm honored to be here at Winthrop and have the opportunity to work with coach Childers and coach (Dee) Stokes," said Potera-Haskins. "I look forward to helping turn Winthrop into a powerhouse women's basketball program and helping the program put that first championship banner up eventually.
"Winthrop is a fantastic institution of education and a program of excellence and I want to contribute in pursuing that excellence with the women's basketball program."
