INJURY REPORT: Senior receiver Jevon Miller suffered an injury against Stephen F. Austin which will likely keep him from playing at Cal Poly. The injury remains under evaluation. Andre Fuller suffered a shoulder injury Saturday, but is expected to be ready to play this week.

The Bobcats (1-1) look to avoid their fifth straight 1-2 start this weekend
Montana State’s win Saturday against Stephen F. Austin snapped a four-game losing streak, and a three-game streak against Southland Conference opponents
The Bobcats picked off three passes Saturday after getting just 10 in 2004, and the three interceptions marked the most in a game since the 2003 win at Weber State (20 games ago)
Tramaine Murray’s 141 receiving yards was MSU’s first 100-yard game this season after posting six in the last three games last year
The crowd of 13,327 for Saturday’s game against Stephen F. Austin was the first opening-day sellout in Montana State history, and was the third-largest non-conference crowd in Bobcat annals
Montana State’s 42-point outburst against Stephen F. Austin marked the most points MSU has scored in a home opener against a Division I opponent since MSU became a I-AA school in 1979
The win was also MSU’s largest margin of victory in a home-opening win as a Division I school


INDIVIDUAL NOTES/PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
OFFENSE: WR Tramaine Murray, 5-10, 180, Sr, Oxnard, CA (Washington State/Oxnard)

Tramaine Murray became the first Bobcat this year to post a 100-yard receiving game, catching seven passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns. OTHER NOTES: Travis Lulay was Montana State’s leading rusher for the second straight game, and his 66 yards is a season-high… Lulay’s run of 33 yards on Saturday and Morris Milton’s of 44 are MSU’s longest rushing plays of the season… Chaz Guinn caught two touchdown passes Saturday



DEFENSE: CB Andre Fuller, 5-10, 180, So, Pompano Beach, FL (Coconut Creek)

Andre Fuller intercepted his first career pass, which set up a Bobcat field goal. Fuller also broke up a pass and registered seven tackles, second-best on the team. OTHER NOTES: Toph Grenfell’s logged his third career interception and returned that pick 31 yards to set up a Bobcat score… Ryan Force had the day’s only sack… Clive Lowe led the team with eight tackles.



SPECIAL TEAMS: none

No nominee. OTHER NOTES: Travis Lulay pinned the Lumberjacks inside the 20-yard line two more times, and has four pins out of 10 punts this year… after missing three of his first four kicks on the day (including two extra points), Hastings closed by hitting three field goal tries in three attempts, and one PAT…Ryan Force returned three punts for 25 yards.

Thanks for the game notes. I'm with Celtic Cat on the rushing stats. I though Lulay went for over 100 on the ground. Which year was the Morris Milton run from?
Also, thanks for the injury info. Any word on what type of injury Miller has? I didn't notice him coming out. (Could tell Fuller hurt his shoulder on his very nifty interception late in the game).

I saw Miller standing on the sidelines with the trainers during the second half. The trainer pounded on his shoulder pads with no visible reaction. I couldn't see his face from 20 rows up, but he didn't flinch or shy away from the contact. He did however, put his hands on his lower back as if to stretch it. Did anybody else see anything??

On the post game show Kramer said that he had some kind of upper chest bruise. I think Kramer said they took him to get X-Rays that turned up negative.
