FYI ON NEXT HOME GAME (NDSU)
I just thought I would put the word out that MSU is trying to PAINT THE STADIUM (NAVY BLUE) this next game for NDSU. So if you don't have any Navy Blue bobcat shirts, now is the time to go out and get one (or another one
).

Why couldn't we all be in gold. That is a much brighter color and I think would stand out more than the Navy. I think it is harder for us, as the weather is so unpredictable that its hard to get everyone in Blue or Gold Winter jackets. Maybe a marketing idea to have some large shirts or ponchos to pull over for the fans to buy at the game for a couple of bucks.

Yeah, I was talking with some Alumni people and I am pretty sure the OK STATE game is spurring this on. I agree that I think that GOLD or the lighter blue would look better in the stands, but they are trying to get Navy I guess as it is the official blue now for the Cats I guess. I put an email in to see if we could maybe go to GOLD instead? Navy Blue I agree just won't stick out like a brighter color would?WYCAT wrote:Interesting - I wonder if a trip to Stillwater spurred that idea? I think it is going to be a lot harder for us to be in all blue than OSU in all orange because a lot of the clothing you can buy is blue and/or gold. The black and white of OSU really take a back seat to the orange unlike us.

After being at OSU and seeing what they are like.jagur1 wrote:I have to admitt the orange in the pictures from OSU is impressive. One problem and I see this at Griz games. Sept games Griz do Ok but once the weather hits and the Ski coats come out forget aboutit.
I have a feeling that when it turns cold there, they have ORANGE warm jackets. I don't think even then you will see much other colors.

I just don't see us making a wholesale change to blue and only blue. I would be happy to see blue and gold everywhere but when you factor in the weather, Jagur is right, that makes it pretty hard. Trying to duplicate OSU in their practice is a novel idea but you just don't understand how much orange there was in Stillwater. The utensils at the hotel restaurant, all women had orange fingernail (and toenail) polish, doors, handrails, signs, cars, BBQ's, chairs, you name it they had it in orange. That was just around town, inside the stadium it was awesome - our 150 blue and gold fans really stood out.

It can be done, we just have to start somewhere. Maybe we can't get everyone in blue for NDSU, but by Cat/Griz we could be close. What I would like to see is something similar to the shirt they gave out to students for basketball the last few years. Get a bunch of sponsors on the back of the shirt and a simple M logo on the front. Pass them out, sell them for $5, do what it takes so that everyone can wear navy blue. Then when it gets cold enough, everyone can just pull these over their coat. If everyone is on the same page, this can be done and I hope it works!!WYCAT wrote:I just don't see us making a wholesale change to blue and only blue. That is a good idea. Get a navy blue shirt with large GOLD M on the front and it would for sure stick out then if everyone was wearing them. They need to get on this and print up some T-shirts for the fans and sell them cheap (at cost maybe) so that all the fans have them. I think that would be a great idea!rtb wrote:It can be done, we just have to start somewhere. Maybe we can't get everyone in blue for NDSU, but by Cat/Griz we could be close.
