To me this thing already feels like a major rivalry.....what do you Montanans think?

It has the feeling of a very important game, but I can't call it a rivalry just yet because we haven't played since what, 1980?
I do however want this to turn into a great rivalry, but I think we need a game or two under our belts before we can call it a rivalry.
Heres to turning NDSU/MSU into the border war!

I think the hype for this game is that fact that both teams are supposed to be good and everyone expects a good game. The cats have kind of let us down, but this may just add fuel to the weekend as it has become a must win game for the playoffs unless we win our conference. If the programs both stay strong and we play regularly, then it can become a rivalry.

I would tend to agree with celtic cat. I have strong emotions coming into this weekend's game. But, I believe that's due to the anticipation of a great matchup. And, the fact that the Bobcats need to win in order to have a chance at an at large playoff bid should we not run the table in conference play.
So, because of those two reasons, I am really looking forward to it.

This is a great rivalry to me because we played NDSU and UND every year I went to school. We also played NDSU in Fargo in the 76 plsyoffs. If we can keep the series active (every year) it will quickly become the second biggest rivalry game we have.

Great poll and I agree with most above. I think it will likely turn (back) into a big time game for both schools each year but right now I am looking at this as a playoff game for us. If we don't win I don't see any postseason games in our future - it is that simple. Sellout croud, two ranked teams, and a lot on the line for both. The only downer looks to be the weather - I can handle the colder temperatures but the rain is going to suck (again).

Yea, Yea, Yea. I wasn't really thinking about the fans comfort as much as the field conditions. I would be happier if Kramer had his Nexturf in place. The field didn't look very good after the SFA game - two weeks in a row isn't going to help it any.

NDSU feels like a rival to me... but then again I did go to UND. I'm really exited for this game. Whenever you play a team that has a huge, passionate fanbase it almost makes for an instant rivalry.

To me this is a great rivalry that simply took a 20 year break. I've never been so happy to have all my relatives and friends from the Great Empty back with us. As I posted in another thread, it almost seems like the natural order of the universe is slowly but surely being restored. Now if they were only playoff eligible so we could once again kick their hindends after the season is over

I posted this one over on Bisonville too and it definitely seems that ( on both boards) most people either feel this is a rivalry now or will be one in the future! All this means we are in for one heck of a game on Saturday.
