Crowd Noise
Sounds like all of you guys that went to the game made a big impact. Good job.
From Bisonville message Board:
"The crowd was a huge factor also...the interception early looked like a miscommunication on an audib le between Heckendorf and Walker...Heckendorf went long and Walker was expecting him to come back to the ball. Their crowd was extremely loud...very effective in helping their defense!"

Not getting paid to scream....huh???
That's what I love about Bobcat games. I love getting so worked up by the kickoff that usually by the second or third play of the game, my voice has cracked for the first time.
To me that's what makes it a special experience. How can you just sit there without becoming vocally attached to the game?
I'm hoarse today also. I see it as a kind of badge of honor.
Now, if what you mean by that is that they have to be able to play away from home also. Then, yes, I do agree!

Why do you think the griz enjoy such a dominating home record/ advantage? Because the crowd sits there and drinks chablis all game long and golf claps between nibbles of cheese? And you claim to be a maniac.bobcatmaniac wrote:That is great, if the crowd noise is that important...however it would be nice to see the team with enough balls to play tough with or without us...we aren't getting paid to scream, and personally I am hoarse today
Now, please allow me to

I know that there was quite a bit of screaming from the student section, but we need those boosters to get out of their seats and make a little noise. I do have to admit they were getting into it towards then end of the game, but they have to make noise through the entire game! The booster side is getting better, but it would be nice if they made more noise…

Yeah, everyone was up and yelling the last possession to end the game. They need to do that on every 3rd down during the game and we will definately affect the oppossing team. They were definately having trouble hearing/making their audibles as the QB was trying desperately on those last 2 drives and I think it made him think more about if everyone heard him -vs- coming up to the line and picking us apart on what he saw etc. (DISTRACTION).mquast53000 wrote:I know that there was quite a bit of screaming from the student section, but we need those boosters to get out of their seats and make a little noise. That is EXACTLY what I mean. I love the game, I stand during the whole darn thing, and scream my lungs out. I just wish they could put it together when they are away. Maybe I was frustrated, sorry!barechestcat wrote:Not getting paid to scream....huh???

Other venues I've been to (including WA/GRZ) have used cues to get the less-inclined fans to make some noise during 3rd downs. The griz play that "raise a little hell" song about 100 times per game. At the Colorado game I went to about 12 years ago, I still remember the announcer prompting, "Time for another big THIRD-DOWN-STAND!" with the whole crowd chanting along with the last part, followed by crazed cheering.CARDIAC_CATS wrote: Yeah, everyone was up and yelling the last possession to end the game. Maybe we need something like that.

Last home game, someone mentioned that they thought that the song "Black Betty" (?) was not appropriate. Against NDSU, the same song was played a few times and I thought it got the crowd going each time. Not my favorite song, but it got people moving.
I dunno, if you aren't gonna stand up and cheer, then why the heck do you go. I rarely sit. My voice still has a nice crackle to it even today.

I do too this morning still. I stand the whole game and yell the whole game! I feel I'm not doing my job as 12th man if I'm not yelling the whole game94VegasCat wrote:Last home game, someone mentioned that they thought that the song "Black Betty" (?) was not appropriate. I know this was mentioned after the first home game but,
ONce again, they played that damn music when we had the ball and were trying to get a play in but on the final drive when the music would be to our advantage...Nothing. And on that note who mad the decision to hire someone for PA who has absolutely no football knowledge. Everytime we handed off he said "Bass on a pass up the middle." And finally the kicker for me was when he introduced one of out newest hall of famers and all-time greats Mike McLeod as Mark McLeod.
Give me a break...I know this shouldn't bother me this much but it's embarrasing.

The devil made me do it the first time... the second time I done it on my own.

I talked with several of our Cat players today and they definately appreciate the fan support. The noise had to mess up the NDSU audibles, Pap said he could not hear our linebackers' calls...keep it up Booster side....I think the students will match/beat our enthusiasm...so lets lead the way.
How long have we waited for this? Lets reward our players for giving us something to cheer about.
Stand up and cheer!

I thought he was saying that too, but I think we heard wrong. It was "Bass up the middle" not "Pass". Would that be due to you having too much to drink??Ponycat wrote:...Everytime we handed off he said "Bass on a pass up the middle."...
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I too and many people around me heard much of the same stuff during the game. One of my favorite calls was late in the game he said "Steppich around the end for a gain of ........" The entire game he was calling him Steffes.grizzh8r wrote:I thought he was saying that too, but I think we heard wrong. It was "Bass up the middle" not "Pass".
