OK listen, I had by any stretch of the imagination a very sh*tty & stressful summer. Then a few weeks back I had a slew of people or events regarding my Mslacat persona that added additional stress on to myself. Now I am not a great typist and it does take me a while some times to post things and make sure I am clear, so I just decided to take a little time off from posting here and some other places for a while. I was actually wondering if I could hold off until the start of Basketball practice on the 15th. I have been lurking of course and still conversing with my friends just, not posting.
There is something else I want to say. I have a few friends who pull a check from MSU and UM. I have a few friends that write big checks to MSU and UM. I know a couple high school coaches. I do converse with newspaper folk (both inside the state and out). I have subscriptions to Rivals.com and Scout.com. I also am pretty savvy as to where to look on internet sites. I also have a few "friends" scattered from Minnesota, Texas to Oregon. Hell I even get quite a few Bobcatnation folks who PM me with info and vis versa. The thing I keep trying to express to everyone is that if I post it it is RUMOR! Even if coach Durham (which will not happen) called me and told me something, the minute I post it it is rumor.
A few updates:
#1 The Griz returning big guy's have all put on substantial weight / muscle. Dloughy, Strait, Hasquet, and Seyfert are notably larger some possibly with 20 extra pounds.
#2 Last week Seyfert blew out his ACL in a pick-up /practice (see #1). The Griz are very, very thin at the 4 and 5 now.
#3 It really looks like the Griz will sign a big Austrainian player this fall (reportedly 7'-0" er)
#4 Bobcat Newcomer Ted Morris may not ever be all conference but he will give the Cats something we have lacked for a long time. He loves to mix it up inside and get physical. I only hope he does not injure any of our players.
#5 Bobcat Newcomer Derrick Edmonds could really become a favorite on and off the court. I keep hearing people tell me what a great kid he is.
#6 In pre-practice unofficial practices freshman Jacques Wilson is really making a push for playing time this season, despite having 5 guy's slated ahead of him.
Sabatical can be good & updates

When I was talking with Chawn a while ago, he said he would much rather guard Al than Ted mostly because Ted is really physical. And Chawn thinks Jacques (pronounced jah-QWEZ) is gonna be really good. This is the first time I have been excited about a Bobcats basketball team. It looks like we have more talent that I can ever recall.

By the way, I saw Hasquett in Missoula at the SDSU game a few weeks back, and he looked huge - your reports are correct. Granted, I saw him dressed for the rain and wind, but he has definitely been working it in the weight room. I swear he is taller than I remember him at Sentinal too.
Has Krysko taught Jordan to post up, or is he still jacking 3's whenever he touches the ball? With the extra weight, I'd say he's going to be working inside a lot more.
Any word on the Johnson and Johnson boys? Either going to get significant PT this year or are we thinking redshirt? I am hoping redshirt.

The Griz folks are very high on Hasquet. In highschool he had a rep for being soft, but the faithful are telling me he is soft no more. With Seyfert out he is going to be getting major minutes whether he is ready or not.Cat Pride wrote:.....

I have heard it said from both Brown and Carson that only Wilson has a chance NOT to be redshirted. I have heard fom another person who knows the program well and they say they do not know how we would be able to redshirt both of the "Johnson Brothers". The key will be after practice starts can either wrestle time away from Pratt and/or Durr (remember Durr played a little at the 4 last year)

I could totally see Krysto molding the Griz into a no-neck muscle team. Not that there is anything wrong with that, as they will wear most teams down. It just seems to fit for some reason.
Sorry to press your sabatical msla, hopefully you'll be rejuvinated for bball season, as it's shaping up to be the dawning of an exiting age for 'Cat hoops... wouldn't be the same without your poor keyboardsmanship!
