D-Line

Post by suckitgriz » Fri Jul 09, 2004 9:09 am

I saw Beau Clark last night and had a great chat with him. He had some great insight on how our defense is going to be and who will make the largest impact. He said that this years D-Line will be far better than last years and that with Andy Matakis coming in, Clive Lowe might even be a backup. Met Andy last night too- huge kid, nice guy. They are both playing in a softball tournament with me this weekend, so i will try to get more info. Have a good weekend.

Good info, suckitgriz. Are you here in Bozeman the rest of the summer? I'm done with my clinical in Boise, so I am back in good ol' Bozeman for the rest of the summer. Missed you in Bigfork, though!

I had a good chat with John Taylor in Bigfork. He sounds like he is doing well, still playing for Los Angeles in the Arena League. He's working hard and hoping to get a shot at an NFL camp, but just has a great attitude about it all. He told me, "What's the worst that can happen? I still get paid to play football!" I made sure to tell him that all Bobcat fans follow how he is doing and root for him to make it.

SIG - Tell me Clark was kidding when he said Lowe might be a backup. That's a pretty good defense with Lowe coming off the bench. I think Lowe will be a first or second Big Sky player this year.

I've heard the same rumor about Clive. It's not his skill, but his size that is still his biggest foe. We all know Clive can play, but he did struggle against some of the bigger OLs he matched up against.

He his tall and fast, with good hands to boot... no way he doens't contribute in some way this fall.

How scary is that, if we can bring Clive Lowe off the bench?! Our front seven is so amazing deep, and we don't lose anything when we bring any of them in to sub. Look for Clive in passing situations, he has a great nack for the ball and is always in the right place at the right time.

That's a nice rotation of Gluhm, Lowe and Matakis no matter who comes off the bench. The LB rotation is good too with Molock in the mix. I wouldn't mind seeing Lowe in there at strong safety on first down.
