Does anyone have a spring roster? Who is there and who has left the team? I see that they are slowly updating it on the MSU Athletic Site. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Saw in the Billings Gazette that a TE from Missoula committed to the Cats.
Name is Nick Parker 6-4 215. Anybody know anything about him?
As always:

I was talking to Beau Clark's dad at the practice Saturday and he told me that Beau was showing the LB from Texas A & M around on Friday. He said he was looking for an Ag School to continue he education because he didn't feel the Texas A & M was a good fit.
He didn't know what happened between the time he talked to Beau and the practice, but there was a new recruit wearing no. 96 lining up on the D line who bore a strong resemblance to the kid we were talking about. He looked about 6-1 and about 260. Kind of built like Cordeiro, but a little bulkier. Mike Clark said the kid from A & M runs a 4-6 and has three years of eligibility left. I hope he signed on Friday night and that was him on the field Saturday. I'm not sure if that is possible, although Mike asked Mateo who the kid was and all he said was that he's probably one of the new transfers because he didn't know who he was either.

Unless I have a severe misunderstanding of NCAA rules, players can't practice if they aren't enrolled in school. Unless the A&M LB has been here and in school since January, the mysterious #96 is probably someone else.

Mike asked Mateo
Mateo Toilolo? I thought he left the team?

Thanks for the info 72. If we actually land this kid from Texas A&M it is going to really crowd the D-Line. Would really raise the level of play for them. Lots of bodies fighting for playing time.
This is who I think would be the projected starters for the D-line: Lowe and Gluhm at DE, Clark and Sebestyen at tackles. Next would be Fiest and Cogley at DE, Nellermoe and Gibbs at tackles. After that is gets really fuzzy with the new JC guys coming in (O'Tool & Rogers) plus Saucedo and the hold overs from last year (O'Conner, Gilchrist and Weiss). Either way it looks extremely deep and very talented!!
If the secondary comes together quickly (and I think it will). This defense is going to be extremely good

Can anyone in Bozeman confirm that Toilolo is definitely not playing this season? It seems to be that this is the case, but I'm pretty sure I haven't yet seen a definitive answer on his status.
Thanks in advance fellas.

Sadly enough, Mataio's career is caput. The NCAA is a stickler for forcing kids to go to class and pass finals in order to play football. I heard Kramer say at Booster functions over the last few months that Mataio either did not take or did not pass one single final this fall semester.
Kramer did note that the kid is still going for his degree and hopes to graduate spring of '05.

Since they're moving Cooper back to Sam linebacker, anyone know who's been playing in the middle?
Also, any reports from those of you who've seen practice as to some of the other personnel moves? (i.e., where's Marudas playing? are we running any 3-4? Anyone impressing you at practice?)
Lot's of questions, but when it's supposed to be 70 degrees in Helena, I'm really itching for some news.

First of all Mateo was standing there watching the practicew with all of the rest of us.
Second of all, during the "skelly drill" Cooper was at Sam, Marudas was at Willy, and Mullohan was at Mike!

Wow!! I would have thought they would put Marudas in the middle (because of size) and keep Mollohan at Will (because of speed).

Canyon Cat,
Nick Parket is a Missoula Loyola kid that has all the physical attributes to be a great TE. Headsmart as well.

It is correct that Cooper is back at Sam. Mollohan is at Mike with Marudas at Will. In the four linebacker set, they bring Mollock in at Rover (the 4th linebacker spot). Eggart is the backup at wil or mike with Curley backing up Sam. Lots of experience in this crew. Definitely, the nucleas of the defense right now. Cats could be tough again on defense.
