MSU License Plates

Post by CatfaninGA » Sun Aug 01, 2004 8:31 pm

Can I just go down to the Bozo courthouse and request one there or do I need to go through the MSU Boosters?

Thanks

Although it goes against my better judgement to help a Cat fan...

I'm not 100% sure (99%), but I think you can buy them at the courthouse and just request them. Here's a link:

I always wondered? Why are cat plates always on 82 Ford Pickups or Buick Skylarks?

I saw a new Suburban with those giant spinning rims (or whatever the hell those things are) with 'Cat plates this evening. Personally I think the tricked out cars of today are ugly, and sometimes downright grotesque compared to an 'ol souped up Camaro SS or Corvette.

If your car is licensed in Montana, you just choose from the myriad of license plates when you renew at the courthouse. You can't get them if you're not a Montana resident. Personally, I don't like the design anymore (I was one of the first 500 to purchase Cat plates). I dropped mine a couple of years ago for the much better looking Open Land plates, which support an equally good cause. I imagine the college plates have dropped off since there are about 50 other choices now, many with much better designs.

Speaking of Montana plates, I've seen so many different versions lately it's like "plate of the month". Some are plain janes, white with maybe blue letters. Some are multi-colored and have a Lewis and Clark background. Most have the old alpha system designated by county ( which I prefer), and now I've noticed a mixture of numbers and letters, so I can't tell where it came from. Every "real Montanan" knows every number from Silver Bow to Lincoln Counties. Sorry it appears this system is going away. I'm always delighted to point out the hot Black Ferrari that frequently parks in the office building next to mine with the Bozeman, Montana license plate (6-XXXX).

I'm not sure on that one, maybe stillwater or sweetgrass. I know most of them, but some of the 30s and 40s are tough.

Same here. I was in line to buy the Cat ones and I couldn't pry my eyes off the Beautiful Dolack Cuthroat Trout ones, and I like fly-fishing almost as much as watching Bobcat football, so I opted for them. To compensate though, I want the Bobcat plate holders. Where can I get them?

They have the alumni one at the online Bobcat store here.

Seems like I remember seeing just a regular Bobcats one in the bookstore last year also.
