I didn't watch the entire game but caught the last 5 minutes or so of tonights 49ers/Bears game on local TV and saw that Swaggert was in at left tackle. He looked like he belonged out there although most of the snaps I saw were in the 2 minutes offense and all passing plays. He was matched up against Joe Tafoya who is the Bears #2 DE. First play I saw, Tafoya bull rushed Swaggert who stood up but Tafoya got decent penetration; the QB Cody Pickett threw the ball up for grabs and was intercepted. Next series, they drove down the field a little and Tafoya was mostly going outside on Swaggert who was just pushing him up the field a little. Both looked a little winded because of the no huddle but Swaggert was doing his job. That drive was turned over on downs. They did get the ball back once but with basically no time left, one completion and then a fumble to end the game. 49ers lose. Swaggert definitely didn't do anything to hurt his chances but at #3 of the LT depth chart is likely fighting an uphill battle. He does look a little bigger than I remember last year, I had to do a double take when I saw his number.
