Damn, this made my day!! I expect some great coaching but also I imagine he will have some great recruiting connections. On top of that he’s just a good great guy.

Re: Welcome back Jody Owens!!
Jody and Bobby were both captains of MSU's defensive schemes. They can coach about any position as they knew where everyone had to be lined up when they were players. Our defensive staff is impressive and I'm excited to see the tweaks these guys make to the scheme which will still be based in the 4-2-5.
Now...what the final decisions will be on offense? Again after the season I think if Housewright gets convicted he's done no matter what. Even if he wins the case, I still think there are no guarantees. I just hope we can hold on to Al Johnson for one more season at this point.

Re: Welcome back Jody Owens!!
Wow! The defense just took two giant steps forward. Bobby and Jody. I hoped but never thought we’d get Jody back. Promoting Daly opened that door.
While I was watching playoff games of non-Big Sky teams, I noted that many of the good teams had coordinators and position coaches and sometimes even the head coach that were all former players with their team. There seemed to be a ton of “program pride.” I think former players, when you choose the right ones, can be a great fit for FCS football. They understand it, the pros and cons, and there for the love of school and football.
“With that being said, after much reflection with family and friends, I’d like to announce that” … I am totally excited about Bobby and Jody and the defense.

Jody Owens has a tremendous resume. Been a DC at multiple places, including co-DC at Pittsburg State under Brian Wright. Even taking out his exceptional career at MSU, he just seems over qualified to be here. Great, great, hire.

Daly + Owens > Choate + Gregorak.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: Welcome back Jody Owens!!
Aug 24 at New Mexico
Aug 31 at Utah Tech
Sep 7 vs Maine
Sep 14 vs Stephen F. Austin
Sep 21 -BYE-
Sep 28 at Idaho State
Oct 5 vs Northern Colorado
Oct 12 vs Idaho
Oct 19 at Portland State
Oct 26 -BYE-
Nov 2 at Eastern Washington
Nov 9 vs Sacramento State
Nov 16 at UC Davis
Nov 23 vs Montana
Wager? Northern Colorado and Idaho are the only two I'm looking at as safe bets on that schedule. Bronco does show mercy so that won't be a huge loss.
U Tech gets several kids back from their missions.
Should beat Maine. Should...
SFA I'd flip a coin right now.
Idaho State has one more year of experience. Don't think MSU goes there and wins.
I'm not betting against Northern Colorado next year.
Idaho lost their entire team. Still, wouldn't count them out because a lot or marginal FCS kids like that area.
Barney is always tough in that sh*t hole town.
Sac is a very organized athletic department now. Plus, their coach is damn good.
I will never bet against Davis. Ever. Just to get accepted in that school proves they are way smarter than the average bear...
And then this travesty...you think the pac officials are ridiculous?
"JUST RUN THE DAMN BALL!" beats the hell out of sandlot ****** gimmick plays every time.
