Noble took first in the shot put (58-2) and third in the discus. Jefferson High took the top four spots in the shot put.
(sorry, I couldn't find his BOOM thread)

Noble and Dethman were the only MSU signees that I found in the mhsa.org state meet results. If I missed anyone, please fill in or let me know.

@TomCat88 I know this is the wrong thread, but did you notice the placing of some of our signees for the Women’s Basketball team?

I was at State AA-C in Great Falls and think Taylee needs to try out the track thing in college. I realize basketball and track don't go well together because of time overlap, but my goodness she's a good track athlete. I just can't help but think she should try both for a bit to see what her better fit is for college. Maybe that's unrealistic, but her times in the 400 and the 300H particularly are elite for Montana. On another somewhat related note, Olivia Lewis from Corvallis broke the all-class record in the 300H by over a second and is coming to MSU. Her time was the 16th best in the country this year. Chirrick's was 102nd, which is definitely good enough for the D-I level.
Roberts finished tied for first as a team and they false-started in the 4x400 relay. If they would have placed, they would have finished first alone. With the Chirrick girls running, I wouldn't have put anything past them, although Twin Bridges and Savage were great relay teams for the Class C level. But Taylee's highlights would have looked even better and would probably have included an outright team championship.

Ouch! False started in the 4x400. That's got to be a rare thing to happen in that race.

It wasn't even close. She was a step out of the blocks when the gun went off. I was right next to her when it happened and she was devastated. I don't think there's a more punitive penalty in all of sports than a false start--especially in a relay.

Chirrick is a really good basketball player. She's one of the great Class C track athletes ever. Part of what makes her so good at hoops is she's just straight up faster than everyone.

I get it. I watched her play just on the NFHS network a few times and she was so good. The track guy in me can't help but think she's one of the top track athletes ever in Montana and I'd just like to see her keep that door open. But truly my opinion matters exactly zero. It's her life and I'm sure basketball is her passion, so I'm 100% on board with her doing whatever she wants to do. She might hate track, so what kind of a-hole would I have to be to tell a stranger what to do!
