Transportation to games for visitors

Post by BobcatBuiltTexan » Sun Aug 04, 2024 8:59 am

The wife and I are looking at coming to our first game in bozeman. What is transportation like from hotels to games? Are there enough ubers, lyfts, etc?

I’ve never used those options in Bozeman. If you’re staying downtown walking isn’t a bad option. Go south on Willson, which is a really nice neighborhood with lots of cool, old homes about 10 blocks, then work your way west to the stadium.

Yes, there should be plenty of ubers or lyft. The hotel shuttle may give you a ride also. Walking is also an option.

I would schedule my Uber. I took one to the Kenny chesney concert when he was here. They were busy. I'm sure less so for games. But you never know.

Almost all of us on here go to the games. Maybe you could make arrangements with someone to catch a ride. I’d offer a ride but my wife and I are the tailgate set up crew. Our truck is fully loaded.

I've done this before, the best thing is it's free! Just have to plan ahead based on the bus schedule. I believe one of the bus routes goes near many of the hotels on 7th and 19th as well as the ones downtown. The end of the line is the MSU SUB from which it's a short walk south to the stadium.

...so @BobcatBuiltTexan if you plan it right, get to the SUB a couple hours before kickoff, go to the MSU Bookstore in the SUB basement to stock up on all of your Bobcat apparel, then make the short walk to the BN tailgate and introduce yourself to @kmax and enjoy whatever fixin's that his tailgate has for that game.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

You haven't mentioned which game you are going to. I'm guessing Gold Rush. Remember, Gold Rush will be a night game with a start time of 6:00pm and it doesn't appear the busses run very late on weekends. I've never ridden the bus system in Bozeman though, so you might want to check and make sure you can get back after the game. If you end up not being able to catch a bus or use a ride share, just DM me your phone number and I'll send you mine. I can give you a ride back to your hotel. I'm staying in Bozeman for the two currently scheduled night games this season. I'd give you a ride to the game too, but I usually get to the games 3 hours beforehand and I'm not sure if you are into being there that early.

We're going to the msu-um game. We want to experience THAT atmosphere. And yeah we already got tickets. We have a way back to the hotel just was wondering about ways to get there.

Good choice for a first game to attend. The offer stands though, so if you ever need any help, just let us know.

Great choice for a first game!

Here's another tip for a new fan, non-travel related. The game is called Cat-griz and the corporate name is Brawl of the Wild. You'll see/hear the first on here and in Bozeman (and throughout the state by most people over 40 that aren't big griz fans) and the second will be what online/tv/radio media/griz fans call it. The corporate name is cool but it was created by a griz fan upset that the Cats come first in the historical name. Some pathetic griz fans try calling it griz-Cat but that obviously never caught on.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Buses also run from the mall to campus so I you drive jump on at the mall. I think they go straight mall to campus so it's a shorter route.

Also you might find your hotel shuttle can drive you near campus for drop off. They likely won't pickup due to traffic and the time it would take to find you.
