So i started watching this game just to get a glimpse of what's coming down the pipe. BOY we better get ready....I like UCD. Those boys play HARD. Very balanced attack, lots of guys that impressed me...you I like Lad Larrison(yes i know he was BSC player of the year...still that dude is NICE). We better strap it up and get our stuff together. Idaho is going to be a problem, real stuff...Dwyer is going to be a problem. Idaho does a good job of calling plays that whether we are in man or zone he can eat. We go to zone he's killing in the gaps, we go man he is good enough to just be better. The coaches can't start looking ahead by any means, but they really need to work some stuff to get ready for this match up. One of the things that bothers me most.....Idaho will move Dwyer inside to match up on a safety...we need to figure out how we are going to neutralize their scheme....

I watched the same game and came away thinking that our first real test, serious test as a team will be Idaho in 2 weeks. Depending upon how healthy they are, and the fact that are coming to Bozeman, gives us an edge but it should be a serious challenge.

Glad we have Idaho at home! That makes a big difference, the stadium will be rockin like a cat/griz game. Also, I hope we can get Polidore back for Idaho, having him back there makes our secondary waaaay better.

Love the games, I felt more confident about our chances to beat these teams after this game. However, I’m always overly optimistic so I can set myself up to crash and burn harder. Despite what some have said, our defense has been overall playing lights out. Exponentially better then last years. Plus, from the games I’ve seen so far across the FCS I’d say we are one of the most physical teams.
With that said, I don’t have the greatest football eye, coaches college athletics, track and field, so I can spot an athlete and that’s about it. So I love hearing the input from all of you. Aside from a minority of dweeb posters on the board, I feel this site is really rolling with great knowledgeable posts.

Yup! Been saying this since last year. Larison went down or they probably win the BSC or get a share. They're good. Hastings is very good. I picked them to win BSC in 2023 and I had them up there this year. Idaho is surprising this year after all they lost. Obviously have some good coaches.

Another note…Idaho was down to their 4th string qb, Nick Josifeck, a kid from Walla Walla, and he played pretty good(not great), but had good pocket awareness and moved the ball decently. Super impressed with Idaho’s qbs and their qb coaching.

ID will be a huge challenge, but thankfully we get them in Bobcat Stadium. Very hard to beat the Cats at home. The Cats have only lost one home game (Thanks to a blocked XP in overtime, against NDSU), in several years.

I didn’t think Idaho looked that good. They got off to a great start but were outplayed badly after that. Got outscored 28-3 for a bulk of the game. Prevent defense allowed Idaho a chance to claw back into it.

This was my though as well. I was in the kibbie dome for the Albany game. I personally think ISU was a harder matchup for the cats than Idaho will be. I think the skill players for ISU are better than Idaho has. The big bodies for idaho are good but I think the cats are better. The idaho game doesn't scare me as much as the UCD road game. Beating the bengals that easy in Pocatello speaks alot about how the bobcat defense can hang with a good offense on the road.

Maine beat Albany 34-20 in Albany. This is why we should wait before anointing a team (Idaho) as the second coming based off one win as a lot of posters did based on Idaho beating Albany in the Kibbie Dome.

That, and we have no idea how injuries (for both teams) and other factors will come into play by the time the Cats meet up with any future opponent.

I too watched much of the UCD and Idaho game.
First half; I thought Idaho would smoke our bags.
Second half; I'm worried about UCD.
In the end, I thought Idaho was a bit overhyped and UCD is properly rated. Both should give our boys plenty of trouble. UCD can move the ball with dinks, dunks, chunks, and plays all over the field. And I'm quite happy to have Idaho at home, under the lights, at night.
