One thing these nationally televised games do is paint a nice picture of Bozeman and MSU. After watching all three quarterfinal games yesterday, I couldn't help but notice the a) lack of fans in the stands at SDSU (I did read there was black ice and travel problems but still it was not a good look for Brookings), b) the empty seats at USD (which sounded like it was being played in an indoor swimming pool) and c) the lack of excitement from the NDSU fans. The Friday night game in Bozeman was electric. If it wasn't sold out, it was very close. Great crowd, enthusiasm all the way to up until the final snap. There's something about football being played out in the elements that doesn't even compare with the stale, indoor version. Bozeman and MSU are special places and I think these last few games can't do anything but help us in the eyes of potential recruits. This team has taken us on an incredibly ride this season. I can't wait for Saturday to come.

Does anyone know what the ratings were on Friday?

I doubt they were amazing, but regardless it was great exposure. Like the original post said, our crowd felt multiple levels higher than any of the other games

It was sold out.
What will we do Saturday with the student section? They are all gone now.

Ratings will come out this week. Probably 1.5 million, maybe more although with the game being a blow out might hurt it.
We had a recruit visit for the UTM game last weekend. He committed yesterday morning. Not saying that was the reason but it probably didn’t hurt.

I'd assume they'll sell any excess student tickets to other fans, just like they did for the Idaho game for the upper rows.

Not all of MSU's students live on campus. Those with houses and jobs are still around at least until probably Monday.

Right, there will still be students around but probably not enough to fill up the entire normal student section. So they'll meet the limited student demand and then if there are seats left over can sell those to the general public.

We all need to be a bunch of Bobcat missionaries. Tickets will definitely be available that aren't in the regular season and cheaper too. Weather forecast looks good. Great opportunity to bring someone along who normally wouldn't go.
