This article really got me going on a positive note this Monday morning…

So many zingers in here against Bobby and what the Griz have been (or haven’t been) in the last decade. Even better than that it points out how good we’ve been and makes me appreciate this era of Bobcat football. What a time to be a Bobcat!!

That is actually pretty scathing.
Should get some social media engagement.

Next press conference should be interesting, but probably not until February signing day?

Can't see the article due to the pay wall, but the Cats have been SO much better than the griz.
Over the last decade or so (post-Ash), the Cats have been to the playoffs 1 more time than griz, they've been to the semi's or beyond 4 times (griz only once), and the Cats are 6-2 vs. the griz in that time.
If not for a magical lucky playoff run last year on the back of Bergen, the griz haven't done squat since 2011. Or 2009 since 2011 was vacated. That's 15 years!

It's true, though. Anyone watching the last 5 years could see it. They don't dominate the line of scrimmage against even middling teams. Yes they're still hard to beat at home but that's starting to fade. I told someone the other day that from an MSU perspective, if your hope is long term dominance over Montana, the best thing that could have happened was their run last year to Frisco. That was a good team with a good draw that made a great run, not a great team (not unlike our 2021 run in some ways). And it papered over a lack of depth, team-building, strength and conditioning, and commitment to recruiting in a new environment in college football. It'll be masked again next year by maybe the most pathetic 12-game schedule I've ever seen. But the fact remains, in my opinion, that our early run to Frisco was a portent and theirs was a gasp.

I’ve been kind of waiting for this style of article to come out ever since Frank asked the question post-Cat/gris about Bobby’s record against the Cats since returning. That prompted another classic Hauck press conference ugly response. Just seemed like this article was coming.

My thoughts exactly, he’s definitely not pulling any punches in this. Maybe my favorite part of the article is that he mentioned Hauck’s quote about the Big Sky being the same as it was, and then used the statistics in the article to stick it to him. One thing about Hauck’s style of being jerkish and short with people… it comes back to bite him when they’re not on top. I think we’re starting to see that a lot.

Well, I just don't know. A MORE scathing article was written in 2022 after we had the incredible exposure on ESPN Game Day and then we blew out the gris 55 to something. The article pointed out how much MSU had grown in enrollment with its outstanding academic programs (especially engineering, computer science, etc.) and all the construction taking place on campus. Then 2023 comes along and the gris smoke us and go to the finals in Frisco. And we were loaded last year. UM overachieved and we underachieved. Anyway, yes, I really like where we are right now. We can thank President Cruzado and Leon Costello for much of the success. In my biased opinion, Montana State is THE university of the state of Montana these days. However, having said that, it was Jeff Choate who figured out how to win four in a row against the gris, including two at their place. Only when we can go into Wa-gris and win on a consistent basis can we say we are dominating them.

The article starts by pointing out that we’ve made the semi’s 4 out of the last 5 seasons, and the Gr*z have only made the semi’s once since 2011… that’s a huge huge difference. It also points out that even in the Gr*z’s good runs, they never made the semi’s 4 out of 5 years. Puts what we’re doing into perspective

You can't give Costello and Cruzado credit then only focus on losses at WA Griz. Cats are dominant in overall sport wins, FB, MBB, WBB, Volleyball, Rodeo, T&F, Cross Country, Golf are all consistently finishing above Griz or advancing further in post season. There has been numerous building projects for sports and academics. Enrollment has soared. MSU is the dominant institution.

I hadn't seen this had been posted, so put the article in a post. That paywall is dumb.

Wasn't it Frank that asked about the 2 qb system and got bobbi's whiny "I don't care."? I agree, could see this coming from a mile away.

On top of all this, the Griz had a load of seniors graduating this year. Fife transferred out, so quarterback will still be an issue. Next year could be a total rebuilding year for them. Bobby's a good coach for sure so I'm sure he's going to work hard to get a team together but I think it will be very challenging for them to be even as competitive as this year. It will be interesting, you never know.

I do enjoy the fact that some of these reporters are openly calling out the gris downfall. I have noticed that Colter has been pretty open about Hauck’s shortcomings as well. While it is the reporters’ job to assess and report the declining state of the program, it seems that Hauck’s rude behavior to them over the years has made them more willing to point out his failures.

BH has been especially sharp with Frank, it seems.
I wonder how many recruits and transfers will read it.

Thanks.
Good article. Objective and seemingly unbiased. It points to Bobbi's failures (he is a four time loser after all), vs. our strong and steady rise with talent in both players and coaches.
