Just my opinion; First undefeated season, Number 1 seed, Last home game from arguably the Bobcats best QB, Stadium sell out. I can go on and on. I know we played SDSU in the semis at home 4 years ago and obviously the 84 championship team. This game just feels absolutely huge!

Considering the building of the program that has happened to get to this point and the performance if this year's team, I think you've nailed it. I don't think any Bobcat fans will dispute that 1984 was a flash in the pan. An improbable, magical run nobody saw coming where the stars just aligned. This season is totally different. This thing has been building for over 2 decades, across 4 coaches. Thankfully, I've never been as confident in the talent, skill, ability, mental toughness, and resolve of a team than I am with the 2024 Bobcats. They just haven't flinched all season.

It should. We kinda bracket-lucked into that home semifinal a few years back. Earning it with a #1 seed taking on a rightful MVFC #4 is a program-defining moment.

I think you can make a compelling argument for #2. For me, the FCS semifinal in 2021 was insane. The talent on the football field was easily recognizable, even then. Chris Olodokun, Pierre Strong, Isaiah Davis, Tucker Kraft, Mason McCormick, Troy Andersen, Lance McCutcheon, Lewis Kidd, Daniel Hardy, and Ty Okada (am I missing anyone?) have either been drafted or hung around the NFL/practice squads and that doesn't even take into consideration the many, many outstanding players that didn't get a shot or are still playing college football. Last home games for Andersen, Okada, Kidd, Hardy, McCutcheon and just the 3rd start at QB for Mellott.

The game was better than I ever could have dreamed. It was such a back-and-forth affair until the Cats scored after the huge Woodard INT.

MSU had 409 total yards; Tommy was involved in all but 21. Andersen, Mellott, and Hardy played out of their minds. The adjustment against Kraft in the 2nd half was one of the best I've ever seen - especially against that TE screen that murdered the Cats in the 1st half.

Also, the Andersen tackle of Isaiah Davis on 4th and short will always be the #1 football highlight for me. It just had that "it" factor.

Absolutely. I am not, by any accounts a football optimist. However, after the UT Martin game in 2021, I told the people behind us that we'd be back home in two weeks. I had a feeling MSU would punch Sam Houston in the mouth and felt that SDSU had a relatively easy run into the semifinals for an unseeded team (Davis, Sac State, and Villanova). After that, though, I thought MSU was toast.

When the game started though, the crowd was truly electric. It was the turning point for this program - as you said. This weekend is - in some ways - a culmination of a four year process. MSU comes into the game a clear favorite. I think they will get it done and have a real chance in Frisco.

No question that game was the best that I've witnessed at home. I think it just depends on how you interpret the question.

For me this Saturday will be the biggest home game ever. Obviously the results of winning are the same as they were in '21. A trip to Frisco to try and win it all. But with the season we've had, undefeated, #1 seed and homefield throughout, I think a loss would be devastating. This is a game we simply must win in my eyes or it will change the landscape of the entire season for me.

I also think we have a MUCH better chance of winning in Frisco this year than we did in '21. That alone makes this game much bigger in my eyes because if we win I like our chances winning it all.

Not only is this the biggest game in Bobcat history, but the fact that we are going to have PERFECT football weather makes it idyllic. Who can forget the awful ice bowl we had to play in over in Brookings? With the weather being so favorable for travel, tailgating and yes, actually play on the field, all the elements are in place for this to be hands down the greatest day in Bobcat Stadium history. Of course, we have to go out there and win it on the field. If we do, the celebrating will go long into the night.

I was only judging it on the buildup but was of course happy that the game lived up to its billing. The loss to the Grizzlies, the resultant drop in seed from top 3 to 8, the QB change/transfer all set that team up for a disappointing playoff. When the pieces of the puzzle started falling into place that led to MSU hosting a semifinal, it just felt bigger than anything the program had seen.

While Saturday is unbelievably important, I'm a redemption storyline kind of guy so I gravitate to 2021. I get why others may feel differently, though. I can't even wrap my head around what 16-0 would mean for the program, so I'm just trying to enjoy the moments while they last.

Today they still had some tickets in general seating available, as well as SRO. It's still going to be a riot, but perhaps not a 22,000 complete sellout.

I think the handful of tickets they had for a bit today were unused student tickets. Just SRO at this point, I bet it's close.

I took a stroll during the Idaho game and was surprised by the number of people standing in the northeast corner of the stadium watching the game on the big screen. If I had standing room only and the grass part is full, I would venture to that spot.
