To me heartbreaking would have been to get blown out again like they did three years ago. I'm super proud of how the team fought, they just came up one or two plays short in the end.

I’m not pissed at all. Disappointed a bit and feel bad for the players, but that second half was so fun to watch.

They kicked ass in the first half and the Bobcats did not lay down.

I’ve been to three NCAA Div 1 National Championships and and shat down my leg each time. It’s hard, and it’s hard on the players more than anything. Especially with such a dedicated fan base the feeling of letting down is definitely there. However, I am fairly successful with a beautiful family and overall lots of great utility in my life.

As coaches, players and fans, we all move on and statistically all will be well and the Cats will get many more shots at this. Oh boy, do I get fired up and say some dumb crap during the in game thread, mostly because I have no one else to watch games with but when all is said and done these men represented our State exceptionally and they will never forget this

If we are heartbroken imagine how the seniors feel. That drop/bad throw on that 3rd down cost us the game.

Heartbreaking… mad… frustrated… disappointed… all of it. And so much more.

No. Our defensive line getting blown up all night cost us the game.

I don't even know if there is a word for what I'm feeling. Detached? I'm not mad, sad, not even disappointed. I'm feeling like as fans we pour our hearts, passion, money into this and it ends like this every God damn year. Obviously we aren't the players, and those guys are most definitely gutted, but we are also invested. There's a good chance the 3 point loss tonight is the closest we ever get to another national title, and that's the worst part.

Pass pro was lacking a bit, as well. Felt like Tommy was running for his life 80% of the time. The good throws he did make were even under duress.

A combination of gutted, and proud. Proud of how the team got off the mat the second half. Gutted that they could bring it home. I think if they played again the Cats would certainly win. They came out in the first half and just didn’t execute all over the field. The second half showed what they really were and that was that they were the better team. Just too deep a hole. Ugh.

Just think how it feels to be an Idaho State or Portland State or Northern Colorado fan. I'll take the end of our season over the end of theirs 100% of the time.

You know what you're getting every season when your team is like that though. Being a top 4 team every year but never being the top team isn't fun either.

It was 10X more heartbreaking for the players than for ANYONE on this board. They gave it their all and didn't quit-- just came up a bit too short.

I was glad Tommy had such a great 2nd half to quiet any potential talk that the Walter Payton award went to the wrong player.

But Cam Miller is really good too and he made a ton of plays for them tonight.

Absolutely! There were alot of teams sitting home tonight just wishing they could lose a National Championship game by 3 points to a team who's won 10 now. I just hate the bizon but you can't deny they have a program that is successful, no matter who the HC is. I truly believe that program building is happening at MSU. It didn't happen at NDSU over night, it took time. MSU is on the right track.

Today isn't fun, but the 15 Fridays and Saturdays in a row that MSU won before today were a hell of a lot of fun to experience. That isn't canceled out by what happened tonight.

Cam Miller played like he was offended he lost the Payton. Tommy proved why he got it. NDSU is tough and know how to win. MSU will get there.
