2027 - Initial Ranking
Tier 1 - "The Rare Ones"
Drew Almquist (Helena Capital) - WR/DB - 6'1", 180 lbs. (Offers from Oregon State, Montana, Montana State and interest from Boise State, Washington State, and Washington)
Thoughts: "Ran a 10.9 during his sophomore track season and was first-team all-state in football. Has had an unfortunate junior season due to injuries but hasn't really impacted his recruiting. Everyone knows he's the top get in the state for 2027. Lightning fast, position versatile, and super competitive."
Tier 2 - "The Blue Chips"
Steele Harris (Great Falls High) - WR/ATH - 6'3", 190 lbs. (Offer from Montana State & Montana; interest from Boston College & Washington State)
Kanon Reichmann (Three Forks) - QB/ATH - 6'4", 220 lbs. (Offer from Montana State & Montana; interest from UTEP, Nevada, NDSU, San Diego St., & Washington State)
Cooper Pelc (Kalispell Glacier) - WR - 6'3", 185 lbs. (Offer from Montana State & Montana; interest from Washington State)
Lane Humphrey (Billings West) - LB - 6'2", 205 lbs. (Offer from Montana State & Montana)
Walker Olson (Billings West) - WR - 6'4", 195 lbs. (Offer from Montana State & Montana)
Quincy King (Missoula Big Sky) - DL - 6'3", 230 lbs. (Offer from Montana State & Montana; went to Michigan camp summer prior to junior season)
Kade Leibrand (Laurel) - OL - 6'4", 240 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Thoughts: "Steele isn't as big as his brother Reed (who is a sophomore receiver for BC who leads them in TD receptions and is 2nd in receiving yards) but he still has plenty of ability to be a go-to player on the outside. Kanon is the unicorn of this class as he stars at QB for Three Forks but he's 6'4", 220 lbs. and can do a bit of everything on either side of the ball. Cooper is super smooth at receiver but he's arguably made just as many plays at corner for the AA favorite Wolfpack. Lane is the best LB recruit in this class. Walker is raw but very talented on the outside for Billings West on both sides of the ball. Quincy is another top DL recruit, also an all-state wrestler, and has a belt in Jiu-Jitsu per his social media...not too bad of a combo to have on the interior. Kade is the top OL recruit in this class and he already displays great technique and tenacity so all you have to do is get him on your team to let him develop physically."
Tier 3 - "The Partials"
Tytan Sebestyen (East Helena) - DL - 6'1", 235 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Cade Hudyma (Glasgow) - OL/TE - 6'7", 255 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Eli Kasberg (Missoula Big Sky) - QB/TE/LB - 6'3", 210 lbs. (No offers but intertest from Montana State and Montana among others)
Hunter Daniels (Kalispell Glacier) - TE/ATH - 6'4", 220 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Hudson Casper (Kalispell Flathead) - OL/DL - 6'3", 245 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Walker Roodell (Bozeman) - WR/S - 6'1", 180 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Logan Strecker (Billings Central) - OL/DL - 6'2", 250 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Kane McQuiston (Missoula Big Sky) - LB - 6'0", 205 lbs. (No offers but interest from Montana State and Montana)
Thoughts: "Tytan is a top DL recruit out of East Helena and was the Class A runner-up in the HWT category in 2025 as a sophomore. Cade plays TE but he's an OT all the way. Eli is not a FCS QB but he's in the Levi Janacaro mold as an athlete and competitor. Hunter is another classic Glacier TE (big, athletic, and physical) and will likely stick out during summer camps in 2026. Hudson will have a legitimate chance to either develop on the OL or DL at the next level as he's the best two-way lineman prospect in this class. Walker is one of the best pure safeties in the class. Logan is a great two-way player for the Rams and you'd be getting a great high school center if you win him in recruiting. Kane is another top LB in this class and is a tackling machine."
Tier 4 - "PWOs"
Jack Ryan (Billings West) - LB - 5'11", 175 lbs.
Tyson Scheel (Bozeman Gallatin) - RB - 6'0", 190 lbs.
Robert Springman (Bozeman Gallatin) - DL - 6'1", 220 lbs.
Brayden Zikmund (Manhattan) - WR/S - 6'1", 170 lbs.
Zandon Calder (Wolf Point) - OL - 6'5", 285 lbs.
Brody Dooley (Belgrade) - S - 6'1", 165 lbs.
Dax Yeager (Choteau) - 6'5", 235 lbs. - TE
Rusch Yeager (Choteau) - 6'5", 180 lbs. - WR
Gunnar Larsen (Billings Central) - 6'5", 200 lbs. - WR
Koda Schleeman (Butte) - 6'0", 170 lbs. - WR
Thoughts: "Jack is an undersized LB recruit out of West but he may be one, if not the, top defensive playmakers in the state...he is everywhere. Tyson is one of the best backs in the state and runs angry. Springman's brother Tommy is already on MSU's roster. Brayden has two-way versatility but could push the top receivers in this class if he keeps developing. Zandon is a big OL project out of Class B. Brody is a top safety in AA. Dax and Rusch are two freak athletes playing ball for Choteau. Gunnar is more of a basketball player but can get it done on the football field as well. Koda is a standout for the Bulldogs at receiver and his dad Doug is the assistant head coach at Tech."
