Brawl 2.0 is manifested in the hearts and souls of both fanbases. How about both just win this Saturday and lets duke it out for a shot at the chipper in Bozeman in a few weeks?

I think both teams get it done by 2 + scores. And that will set me up for a week's worth of high blood pressure waiting for an epic Brawl!!

I’m excited at the possibility but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be nervous as hell about it.

I think the Cats are the better team. They played a good, not great game in Missoula and won. The griz played their best game of the year to date and lost, at home.

But there is clearly not a huge gap between them. Anything can happen on any Saturday. Sure as hell glad it’d be at home.

It would be the sweetest of Cat/gris wins or the absolute worst of Cat/gris losses.
The winner will be the favorite to win it all. That’s a lot riding on a game that is already about as intense as they come.

I think both teams have tough draws. But, eight teams left it should be tough. The Cats didn’t play well last weekend. The gris played very well. Honestly, both are uncharacteristic. The Cats will likely rebound and play better. Under Vigen there are no examples of why we shouldn’t believe that. Are the gris hot and clicking? Maybe. If so, Cat/gris round two will be epic.

I’d be fine if griz lose Saturday…don’t get me wrong if cats do beat the griz it’ll be the biggest win that’s happened in my lifetime for that program…Until Jan 5th of course. But for whatever reason if the griz make it to Bozeman and win that’ll probably be far worse than “the streak,” year in year out feeling. Thought last year was gonna be the year and cats fell a little short. now winning a championship is better than it’s ever been for the cats and if the griz are the ones that stop it from happening and even worse win another championship, idk how that’ll go for me 🤣 other fans the program etc. just think it’ll be the most demoralizing loss that could possibly happen at this point (of course losing Friday won’t help either).

We will be favored in the remainder of our games this season. We just need to focus on one step at a time.....

Obviously beating the griz would be the ultimate. not only did they beat em twice in a season, they beat them at wa griz, became conference champs and if they are the team that now ends their season you couldn’t ask for a better outcome to the season up to this point (except for maybe beating Oregon 🤣). But at the end I of the day I just want a win on Jan 5…obviously every team that’ll be in the way to Nashville will be challenging starting with friday, but just feel USD is the better match up and yes griz are clearly beatable even twice in a season although it’s tough to do, it’s just the griz are just so explosive and that always makes me nervous about them.

They are indeed explosive but hopefully fans remember that we were more explosive against their defense a few weeks back and outgained them by 50 yards in their house, ran for almost 6 yards a carry, and threw for about 9 yards a catch. The whole "ball didn't bounce our way" narrative is just that...a narrative as we overcame 7 penalties, didn't recover two fumbles, and lost the middle 8 14-0 in WaGriz.

I keep reading this perspective over here that the Griz played their best game to date against the cats. I would argue I watch way more Griz football than anyone over here, unless you also watch every single play of every single game both live and then back on TV. That was far from the Griz Best game. FFS they threw a pick 6 when they had all the momentum to put the game away, then got a field goal blocked and had a touchdown called back from a pretty weak hold call. Then they couldn’t get off the field on that last 6 minute Cats drive How does any of that contribute to one of their best games? I give their performance against the cats a solid B minus but it definitely was not an A or A plus. Not really close.

Agreed. Could strongly argue SDSU was full throttle for Griz offense once they got the momentum. I think our offense played one of their best games against the Griz but defensively not even close. Would say B- as well. That's why it's such an intriguing match up...and I hope it happens again to see who is "right"!

I realize yale was not a great game but after watching it and watching the gris game I think we will get beat if we face them again...I am not worried about SFA but I have a bad feeling about playing the gris again.

The Cats need to play one whole helluva lot better than they did on Saturday to have a snowball's chance in a rematch. Let's just hope USD gets the job done.

What was the gris best game before Cat/gris? I don’t watch very much gris football. But, I thought it was their best game.

Looking at times for a Brawl rematch, I saw that both semifinal games will be on Saturday, December 20. One is scheduled for 2:00 pm and the other for 5:30. If Tarleton takes care of Villanova, they would host the Davis-ISU winner. Since Tarleton is farther east, they’d probably get the early game leaving us with a night Brawl. Can you imagine the drone show for that? Can we get Billy Idol to do a promo on the big screen before the game? How cool would that be?

One thing that will be tested for the first time in about 100 years is the effect of the home field advantage. This time basically the same teams will play twice in the same season once at each other’s stadium.

It’ll be interesting to see the difference between how each offense performs in Bobcat Stadium versus WGS.
