Attendance Record

Post by Run-the-ball » Sat Dec 20, 2025 7:41 pm

ESPN says attendance was 25,437. How did we get extra people in vs our regular season games? Or do we not sell out of SRO tickets normally?

We were in the SRO section. It was PACKED. I’d say maybe 10 % in SRO were Griz.

Some people are a lot like slinkies....... Not really good for much, but it puts a smile on your face to watch them fall down a set of stairs.

I just don’t think there were 3000 extra people there. But, maybe.

Don't forget the new north endzone seating.

We set a new attendance record for Gold Rush with those seats. 25,000+ though is insane. And getting around the stadium and entry was total chaos. The number is not a surprise, but why did we issue 25,000 tickets. That is insane when we are at capacity in previous games at 22,500.

Honestly, with it being such a HUGE game… get as many people in as possible because something like this isn’t happening again anytime soon.

There were people watching from the gate to the field in the north east endzone

Yeah. The gris aren’t making it back to the semifinals anytime soon.

Yeah, there were people in the aisles and crammed in everywhere. I’ve never seen such long lines to get up into the stands and bathrooms as well.

They showed a couple of views on TV that showed SROs packed tighter than I’ve ever seen them — no contest. Very easily would have exceeded regular season SRO numbers. Sardines.

They sure were!! Looked great and sounded so loud during the broadcast. Even causing some false starts. Also, a shout-out to the grounds crew getting the field ready in a short period of time after that storm.

They were in the section that they always keep in. There the SFA band was. So if 10% of SRO was them I'd say they were between 500 and 1000 people.

I saw more gris fans than I would have liked in the East grandstands too. Not sure how they were getting those tickets, unless it was seat geek.

Oh, the gris fans in the endzone area had cleared out by the end of the fourth but the other area near the SRO section remained packed with gris to the end.

I understand there’s fundraising in the works, but this highlights the situation that msu is losing money by not spending money. The stadium needs to be expanded to between 25-30k with new suites. Based on recent demand, it will still sell out and will generate more revenue as well for the university as a whole.
