Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Greatest play in Bobcat history. Greater than Joey Roberts pick (that was in a semi). Greater than Taco's 87 yarder in the Brawl 2 (maybe we win the game anyway). Greater than the Miracle in Missoula (as great as that was). This was our last gasp. We score or we lose. Greatest play ever.

That was a tremendous play. I see everybody calling it tacos amazing touchdown and don’t get me wrong, he ran a good route, but my goodness that was all on your quarterback. He was under heat, threw with dude’s breathing down his neck off his back foot just as taco was coming out of a break and delivered a dime84CatGrad wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 11:42 amGreatest play in Bobcat history. I have to give it to three plays at the end. Both blocks and the TD.

Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
How about the scoring drive at the end of the second half?!?!!
Three plays, 75 yards, 36 seconds, and three absolute dimes from Lamson to three different receivers. And capped off by possibly the play of the year with Dane Steel juking, leaping, and diving into the end zone. AMAZING!!!

Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
As great as the plays leading up to it were, I'm gonna give some credit to Myles Sansted for the XP. Came through in a pressure situation similar to what the ISU kicker failed twice.
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do, but 48-23 may be the best of all.

Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Some seriously epic moments in this game. But I can confirm my heart was skipping beats while we waited for sansted to lineup for the final kick.
With the recent kicker headline of the Ravens kicker missing the FG, to the ISU kicker getting two blocked(due to snap issues), he showed amazing resolve in knocking this one through.
From try out walk on, but is on a trajectory to go down as the all time scoring leader at any position in big sky history. Epic stuff
Thankful to be along for the ride

Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Taco’s post game interview said it all.
“Calm. Confidence. Throw me the ball.”
What a play. What a player. I’ll never forget that crowd erupting after he made that catch. A kid from Billings who in his own words isn’t “a football player” gave Montana State the spark when it needed it the most.

Inspired me on how to collect myself better in big moments. Such a joy to root for!

Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Underrated key moment from the game - Winning the Overtime coin toss.
This allowed us to go on defense first, and then after giving up a TD (no XP) we knew that we had to get a TD. Meaning, we were able to use all 4 downs for offensive plays. And boy did we need that last 4th down!

This. Very much this. That was a dot, thrown to a spot with the receiver's back turned. Hell of a throw.HookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 12:20 pmThat was a tremendous play. IMO, nothing about what MSU did last night was a miracle! They practiced and prepared all year for those moments and made the plays they needed to make to win. Besides, that name is already taken thanks to Frank Wycheck and Kevin Dyson!

Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
I considered there to be FOUR miracles needed to win that game:
1. The 3-play touchdown drive with 54 seconds left in the half.
2. The Jhase McMillan blocked field goal.
3. The Hunter Parson blocked extra point in overtime.
4. The perfect Lamson pass that he threw with that Redbird defender in his face and closing... and Taco securing the catch to get our final TD.
I typed this up this morning but just got home after the flight to post it.
Now if we can clean up the false starts, next year we'll win the Natty in regulation! GO CATS!

That toss was exactly where it needed to be, absolute dime by Lamson.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 4:44 pmThis. Very much this. Re: MUSIC CITY MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!
VERY underrated! If we lose the toss, and it plays out the same, we're kicking a FG on 4th and 10 to go up 3, and ill state scores the TD to win it.HelenaCat95 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 4:38 pmUnderrated key moment from the game - Winning the Overtime coin toss.

ISU also had some luck. Remember when they fumbled at the 1, into the end zone, and it was recovered by one of their O linemen for a TD.
I believe that was 3rd down and our defense at that point seemed like they had a chance at a goal line stand. Or if the Cats recover that ball, the game probably gets away from ISU and we win easily in regulation.

This is a really good point. Kind of obvious in hindsight but I didn’t think about it initially.HelenaCat95 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 4:38 pmUnderrated key moment from the game - Winning the Overtime coin toss.

If we get the ball first there is no way we’re throwing on 4th and 10. We’re kicking a FG there most likely.
And our D was pretty well gassed at that point. Keeping them out of the endzone was a tall task at that point in the game.
