On the other hand, if not for the portal a player like Seth Johnson likely never would have considered coming to MSU in the first place.

We have a lot of guys who are going ot have to give up some big $ to stay. My hope is that there are boosters out there somewhere who could put together low six figures for a few of our top guys who would high six figures or low seven figures in FBS. Nobody will stay for the $, but if we can offer $ as a sweetener it could help up keep some folks we might otherwise lose.

Be careful. Walmart gris fans may officially enter the portal and buy bobcat championship tshirts.

I wish we truly knew what offers are. It is a shady business right now. Top FBS have money. Lower P4 and G5 not nearly as much. The way they treat the G5 it will be interesting to see if NIL funding can continue. How much does a backup DB at Texas make, or a starter at New Mexico?

This is where I’m at. I don’t want any to leave in a perfect world, but they will.
And they were going to regardless of the outcome last night (most likely).

It’d be an absolute kick to the nuts to lose a bunch if they fell short last night. But nothing can take away 2025 National Champs. That helps a ton.

So we’re going to lose what we lose, hopefully it’s not an insane amount, but just trust in the coaching staff and their recruiting and development to have the next guys ready.

This team should be primed for a return trip to Nashville. Losing a few guys shouldn’t change that.

And whatever happens, the Cats will always be the 2025 National Champs.

I agree...as previous poster said, there are several players (DB's) who probably would have never came to MSU previous to the portal...and they will be gone...I have heard Zimmer turned down a 7 figure offer from a Big10 school, so far he is committed to one more year at MSU...thus far Jones and Crews have turned down offers...Dowler boys are being heavily pursued...wild times.

Just speculating. It was already gonna be bad, but with that kind of the exposure offers will be pouring in.

Just praying the MT kids stay. Guys like Taco will be getting ridiculous offers. He is extremely loyal……. But there is always a certain dollar amount that ya can’t turn down.
