Nashville > Frisco
Thought Nashville was outstanding. Great destination with so much within walking distance. Hope it stays in Nashville permanently.

Re: Nashville > Frisco
I'm pretty sure I remember Nashville getting the bid for 2 years while Frisco renovates - is that correct?
It sounds like Nashville absolutely loved hosting, loved the revenue etc. Any chance they just choose to outbid Frisco for it?

I would think so, and depending on what kind of crowd they get next year (which I assume will be good) I think a fair number of places will put in some healthy bids to get it.BigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 3:05 pmI'm pretty sure I remember Nashville getting the bid for 2 years while Frisco renovates - is that correct?

Nashville got a great crowd and an even better game. Makes it appealing for any city I would think.

Completely agree. From a strictly revenue perspective Frisco and that stadium potentially lost a large source of offseason revenue for both the venue and the town.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 3:08 pmI would think so, and depending on what kind of crowd they get next year (which I assume will be good) I think a fair number of places will put in some healthy bids to get it.BigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 3:05 pmI'm pretty sure I remember Nashville getting the bid for 2 years while Frisco renovates - is that correct?

Will be interesting to see if potentially other easily accessible destinations that have more of a touristy vibe place bids on it. Also would be interested in knowing the bid amount that won it.

Re: Nashville > Frisco
We loved Nashville and while some didn’t have the best experience at the stadium, I thought it was a way better venue. Having it in an actual football stadium is a huge plus right off the bat.

The DSU’s vs Montana schools in Vegas should play a role in if/how much they’d bid for the title game too. They know they’re getting at least one of those 4 fanbases in.BigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 3:19 pmCompletely agree. Nashville was great. The charter hotel was in the thick of things. Vanderbilt stadium wasn't perfect but there is not a bad seat in the house. The main problem was access from restrooms and food to and from seats. There was some major choke points that made mass movement of people very slow. But the stadium size was perfect for the Bobcat fan base. Tickets were available yet the stadium was very full.

Re: Nashville > Frisco
Nashville was 100% better than Frisco in almost every way, nightlife, access to that nightlife, hotels, sights to see, etc. The stadium was marginal at best though. I don't know of anyone that went down to the toilets or concessions at halftime, just because it was such a mess getting to their seats before the game. However, the stadium in Frisco was pretty bad too. The lines were atrocious, the seats were nice, but it was also super crowded and nearly impossible to get to the concessions and the toilets. In the end, I'd still take Nashville over Frisco.

For an SEC school, it's a pretty meh stadium. The new EZs are very cool and modern, but the rest of the stadium was super old and poorly laid out. I honestly couldn't believe how awful the concessions were, and the congestion getting to our seats. Getting in the gate - super easy. Getting to our seats - worse than getting in the gates in Frisco. Overall, I still prefer FirstBank Stadium over Toyota Stadium and much prefer the ease of getting around in Nashville to the Dallas metro area.

Vandy is definitely a baseball school. They seem to only be in the SEC for tradition and to pull up the conference's academic profile.ZebraCat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:29 pmFor an SEC school, it's a pretty meh stadium. I think the EZ renovation was just completed prior to the 2025 season so it makes sense they would be nice and the rest of the stadium would feel out-dated.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

For those of you who attended; was the congestion/issues more of a lay out issue or was Vandy a bit unprepared for the turnout?

Re: Nashville > Frisco
Yes, they just finished the last of the EZ renovation in early September. They also broke ground in October on a huge renovation to the baseball stadium. They are adding a party deck and market with additional premium seating. They're adding to the coaches offices and 10,000 square feet for a new weight room and pitching lab. In total, they pledged 300 million to athletic facilities back in 2023. I wouldn't be surprised to hear about more upgrades coming to the football stadium if they continue to be a top 25 team.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:35 pmVandy is definitely a baseball school. Time will tell if it's a blip or will last, but Vandy might be the most successful SEC school so far this year across all sports. Their football team went 10-2 and both their men's and women's basketball teams are currently ranked 11th and 7th in the AP polls respectively.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:35 pmVandy is definitely a baseball school. The entire Nashville experience far outpaces everything in Frisco. The stadium sure needs some help, but it’s just the right size and it fit all the Bobcat fans nicely.
Really hoping the game stays in Nashville. The city loved having us there!

Definitely layout. The stadium was old and outdated, at least where we were behind the team. The end zones looked to be more modern. The entryways into the stadium itself were super congested and no railings on the stairs and that slowed down the elderly folks. The seat aisles were narrower than the East grandstands at Bobcat stadium. I had one tall guy sitting behind me and every time I sat down, his knees hit me in the back. I didn't sit down much though. I also mentioned earlier the issue with the ladies bathroom toilets overflowing, but I'm a guy, so it wasn't a big deal to me.thisnamesucks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:37 pmFor those of you who attended; was the congestion/issues more of a lay out issue or was Vandy a bit unprepared for the turnout?
One other thing. People weren't helping with the congestion. I saw idiots taking selfies on the way to their seats and having conversations with people sitting in the stands. C'mon people, look behind you! Keep moving!
I'd still take it over Frisco, every time.

Count me in the Nashville camp. I loved it. Yes, the flight options weren't great, but everything else about it, including the Nashville airport, was better than Dallas and Frisco.
Sure, the Vandy stadium had some issues, but it was so much better than Frisco. Or anywhere else, for that matter.
