My name is Walter Sparks, my wife and I are graduates of Illinois State University. We went to Nashville for the championship game, and ended up sitting in a sea of blue, finding our seats in the MSU section.
We were so impressed with the passion and sportsmanship of most of those around us. As the game got close, they were so complimentary of ISU's play, and after the game could not have been more respectful. And I truly think, had the game gone the other way, while they surely would have been disappointed, I have no doubt their class would have still shown through.
As a former player, I am extremely proud of ISU and all Coach Spack and this team has accomplished. We too have great fans, but the passion I witnessed from the Bobcat faithful was truly amazing.
Congratulations again and beat the Griz next year.

We had great interactions with any of their fans we encountered at the hotel, downtown and at other areas of town!

Any you beat the Bizon next year. And do it two times!
ISU is a class act, great coach, and tough hombres! I expect you to be at the top of the MVFC in 2026.

Liked the coach other than his whining in the sideline interview after 1st quarter.

He was pissed because Sobkowicz got caught doing what’s he’s been doing all year. It was an easy call. He probably could’ve caught it without pushing off…but…he pushed off.

Wait.. I thought we had the worst fans according to the Mecca folks.. Joking aside, Redbirds were fantastic and I’d say the same about them. I have some videos of Redbird fans chanting ESGGCO through street cones during the Mony Mony song at one of the random bars. Fantastic stuff. Good fans.
