************* Just because I need a basketball fix **************
**************** No real Hard Information ********************

Starters:
Pencil in Marvin Moss at PF (4) Position
Pencil in Frank Brown at PG (1) Position
Gut feeling Dissley at the SG or SF (2 or 3) Position
Miller and Rose fight it out for SG (2) Position (I'll go predict Miller)
Towsley and Beye fight for center (I here Towsley feels he will have to earn his spot vrs
is all the hype about Beye true?)

Wild Card: Dennis Woodall, Had an OK year last year, but I think he will surprise this
year ALA Ento. If he makes it into the starting line up at either the SF or pf position
could effect all the starting positions from 2G through center.

The team will be very flexible.

Surprises: Woodall (as mentioned above)
Disappointments : JC recruit Taylor Pratt (please Mr Pratt or somebody else, prove me
wrong)

Fact: Martrell Johnson is Back (No big news here, but a favorite of mine)

I played with the guys in the late summer and have a few observations for everyone.

1. Brandon Miller will not only start but will be our best player. This guy can shoot the lights out(literally, I saw him with a bb gun in the fieldhouse taking them out one by one). No really, he is money. He may be the best 3 pt shooter we have seen for a while, and yes I have seen plenty of J.E. and Sprinkle. Miller penitrates well and is a vocal leader which may be his most valuable attribute, since Durham isn't.

2. Big Al is very skinny and not very polished in this post game, but you can not fall asleep on him cause he can score a bit. He will dunk on some people this year too! He is a great shot blocker as well.

3. Durr has improved alot and is hitting his 3's.

4. Martrell has not improved much if any. I asked one of the guys if he is slowly getting his skills back(as he was amazing before his kedney transplant) and the answer was a NO. He is very out of shape.

5. Towsley is still bad but he can lean on some people. Some of the guys were getting on him because he never passes once he gets it.
Shoots before he aims.

Didn't get to see Pratt Moss or Brown

Thanks for the update. Sounds like Brown, Miller, Moss and Disley will be the heart of our team with the center spot again some what week again. Well at least we will have size there

Heck, in the BSC if you have that kind of size, you don't need particularly good skill. If we can at least teach 'em to raise their hands in the air on D and set good picks on O we should be alright from the sound of it.

I guess we should mix a little toughness in, too... It seems like our great Centers of the past were great because they were tough, mean SOB's (Holmstadt, Latovic being the most recent), not because they were 7ft tall.

Now I'm all exited about basketball again... Dang that MSLACat!

I have been told that there were no player defections or additions to the mens and womens teams since these rosters were put up and they are acurate.

The women return quite a few players, considering the off season they had. Hopefully, the bleeding will stop. The big loss was Jo Hixson, who could have been one of our best players ever, and was a lot of fun to watch. We're rich in 5-5 guards, but Nelson could be a good one.
