The first day of D-1 basketball practice starts Saturday October 16th. I am told, but it has not been confirmed, that Durham might hold midnight madness type thing at 12:01 am Saturday morning. Whats the outlook for the team? I think we are one year away from contending for the Big Sky crown, but this year it really could mixed bag. I guess that is what has me exited to see what this team looks like. I don't know how exited I will be in January but right now I am.

**** Basketball Annuals Report ****
I looked over a group of basketball publication last night and they all had MSU finishing 7 or 8 in the conference, based on returning players and recruits. One publication picked Marvin Moss as the "new comer of the year" and another picked Frank Brown as "top play maker" in the conference. One pubication actually questioned whether Durham had lost a step as a coach and was too complacent in his possition as Bobcat coach.

Yes i know for sure that there will be a midnight scrimmage to start the season off next friday night. I can not see this team finishing in the bottom of the confrence. I think that mick did a great job of recruiting this year and that people will be greatly suprised of how well we do this year.

The national Magazine's alway under estimate Micks recruits. Mick has always found players that were chronically under rated or hidden in small pockets and they have turned out to very good Big Sky players.
